If I am trading with the Pelican's I would want Evan's for this team.

No thanks. That contract is one of the worst in basketball.

I agree his contract is not good, but Gordon's is worse. if we could trade Pek to them for Evans and Morrow. I would listen. Evans at least is someone that can handle the ball. I assume he can finish at the rim, but don't know his stats. I know he is not a shooter at all. I think he is a ball stopper, but he averages 5 assists a game.

I'd rather have Waiters on his rookie deal.

I would too but I'd actually do both deals. There would be probably be more to the deals but essentially Martin and JJ for Gordon and Pek for AV and Waiters. 3 deals in an offseason might be too much but there's a third deal I'd like to see as well, Bud/Luc and Shabazz for Thad Young

Wait, why would we go for Gordon if we acquired Waiters? I'd rather have Waiters/Martin than Waiters/Gordon based on talent, production last year and cost. And no way Philly makes that deal, but I do like Thad's game.

The more I think about it, we should be doing the most to get Waiters (without being stupid). He fits a lot of what we need.

I was thinking we'd start Waiters, I don't love Martin's game off the bench I think Gordon is capable of doing more with less, his contract sucks but for 2 years I'd be OK with it. I thought I read somewhere Thad's looking to get out of Philly and they were looking for a 1st for him. I figured Shabazz might be as good as a first considering his solid numbers with limited playing time.

If Waiters is priority 1, I'd say someone like Thad is a close 2nd. We really need more versatility on this team especially at the 3/4 spots and he would bring that.

I agree Cam. If we can deal Pek for Varejao and Waiters then we should jump on it.

I actually love Varejao for this team from a skill standpoint, but man, talk about an injury risk. Last 4 seasons he has played 65, 25, 25, 31 games. I know many would argue that he is on the last year of his deal, so maybe health matters less, but if we trade Pek away in any deal we absolutely NEED Varejao to be reasonable healthy and productive.

When did Dion Waiters become so good? He seems to have more sizzle than substance. I get that he fits the mold of a classic SG, but that doesn't mean he's actually a good basketball player. He uses a lot of possessions to get his points.

I'm not suggesting that Martin, with all of his foibles, is necessarily a lot better, I just don't see how Dion Waiters is much of an upgrade. And to get rid of Pek for Varejao when we already have Dieng and Turiaf at Center? That's a head-scratcher....

This all seems like grasping at straws.....The S&T for Deng is the only credible deal I've seen on this board when it comes to Pek. And I'm not even 100% sure that is a great move.

This. Thank you Q. All this love for Waiters is making me woozy. And and and he's an Orange person? Orangie? Cuser? We don't want any more orange people on this team.
