I do have confidence that his ability to create on his way to the basket and around the rim will get better. Those plays are more about feel and creativity and less about form. I have no confidence in his ability to improve his jumpshot. That requires tecnique , consistent form and a quicker release. Something that is formed over years and years of repetition. And even if he figures out his form can he keep it with a hand in his face. Thats all mental.

I am just glad that he is making a concerted effort to look for his shot more. You couldn't say that before this year. That is a step in the right direction. He will figure out a way to be effective, eventually.

Hes taking less shots and making less shots too tho.

2-8 tonight and he continues to suck as a shooter.

I think that is part of the mental roller coaster he is on. That, and there are many nights, like tonight, where he does not need to shoot.

Perfectly done. That article was pretty spot on.

At the end of the day, we should probably just accept Rubio for what he is and appreciate the skills he brings to the table - provided we don't overpay for these skills, as he certainly is not worth a max contract or even close to it at this point.
He will never be a great scorer, finisher, or shooter. Will he become passable? We'll see. But in the meantime, this team has bigger problems to solve.

I guess we all read what we want to read.
Did Aschburner or Goldsberry claim Rubio was hurting the team? I read that he and the Wolves have reached a plateau.
Both guys mention this with Rubio. And the stats are convincingly on their side. 108 points per 100 possessions is great. But is Rubio entirely accountable for that? And what COULD it be if he COULD shoot at even a mediocre rate?
Why settle so quickly for the plateau?
[Note: Q basically sums it up. He does some things well. Others poorly.]

Great point. The truth is Rubio could help us even more if he could score. We really would be a quality team instead of an average one if Rubio was a complete star.
