Ouch, sjm, you've laid out my nightmare scenario! Lakers get healthy halfway through the season, and Kobe leads them on an inexorable march to the playoffs. Wolves and Lakers are tied going into the last weekend...we lose in Orlando with Dipo going 20-10-10, and the Clippers rest their starters and let the Lakers win. Please, please. please, NBA gods...don't let it happen!
I don't think it happens. The Lakers' lineup is terrible until Bryant gets back, and they will be almost eliminated before he is healthy. Wolves stay healthy, shoot 36+% on threes, and grab the 5th spot.

I don't know how to really say what I want about this without coming off as an asshole. New Orleans as the 6th seed? Are you kidding me? New Orleans over Golden State? Lakers over Wolves? Grizzlies lose Coach Hollins and get the No. 3 seed? There's no logical way you could justify any of this. I think you're just trying to be extremely different for the sake of being different.

NO picked up Holiday in the offseason as well as Tyreke Evans. That gives them a trio of Gordan, Holiday and Evans with Davis, Andersen and Smith filling out the PF and C positions. If they stay healthy they have a formidable team. Just like the wolves and GS they have had some injury problems. Why aren't they just as likely to stay healthy? GS could lose Bogut or Curry at any time. The wolves will likely lose Pek, Love, Martin, and Bud to significant games. Not sure what isn't logical about any of that.
As much as I like Hollins, his assistant took over and neither are actually on the court. The lakers still have Nash and Gasol to start the season, and Kobe likely back in the first 20 games. That can still be a very good team. Once again will come down to health, but it seems to me that the wolves have more injury prone guys than any of the rest.

Eric Gordon's the most injury prone player out of all of those names. Even if he stays healthy, I don't think the Pelicans are deep enough nor have enough talent to get 6th seed. Pretty bold prediction you have there, but if it comes true I'll be the first to congratulate you on being correct.
You're expecting last season's injuries to pretty much happen again. Well, if Love and Rubio miss the majority of the season then we have no shot. Kind of a shot in the dark to think that'll happen, however. Nash and Gasol surrounded by Nick Young, Xavier Henry, Jodie Meeks and Chris Kaman. LA's roster is as weak as it's ever been and by the time Kobe comes back, they very well could have a terrible record that puts them in a big hole. Also, it's not a given that Kobe comes back to being the same player. Achilles injuries are the worst in all of sports. So basically, New Orleans and LA can overcome their problems with significantly less talent on their roster and have their injury prone players stay healthy, but Minnesota can't? I just think it's too heavily negative towards the Wolves. Seems to me that you're predicting everything that can go wrong will for Minnesota while New Orleans and LA catch as much good fortune as possible.
Re: Predicted Western Conference Standings
Didn't Minnesota have more injuries than any other team last season, and then added more injury prone guys this season?

Just think it's funny that you expect Minnesota's crazy injury problems to pop up again but act like New Orleans and LA will be just fine. And added more injury prone guys? Kevin Martin's had decent health in recent years as well as Corey Brewer. Shabazz doesn't have an injury history. You might as well not watch a game this year if you expect it to be so bad.
Re: Predicted Western Conference Standings
I find it funny that you're scrambling for a SF for our deep team.
I find it funny that you are willing to ignore that Minny had WAYYYYY! more injuries than any other team last season, and did nothing to address it in the off season.
I find it funny that you feel offended that I don't share the same outlook as you, and that you feel the need to worry about how I spend my time.
Why do you think the wolves are any deeper than NO. NO has Smith and Davis with Andersen and Steimsma backing them up. They have Holiday, Evans, Gordon, Morrow available to cover the guard spots, and Aminu at SF. SF might be the only spot they aren't deep at. Talent wise, you are clearly underestimating Davis. The guy is a cross between KG and TD, and will likely be the best big in the game in a couple of seasons.

You assume so much don't you. We have a hole at SF for our starting group, yes. Never said we were the deepest team in the league, but we do have depth at every position, in my opinion. I also think Sota's deeper than the Pelicans that you love so much.
I'm not ignoring the injuries that occured last year. I just find it extremely unlikely for the team to crumble like it did last year. Lol nobody's worried about how you spend your time, especially not me. According to your posts, though, you're expecting a terrible season from Minnesota and it's all based on the assumption that the main pieces of the team get injured. Bravo.
I don't care that you don't agree with me. I just think your opinion is incredibly far-fetched and your reasoning behind it wasn't good enough for me to see how you came up with it. Pelicans as 6th seed is mind-boggling.
