I think the idea is kinda weird, but I still would support it under a scenario I think is not unlikely. Let's say the Wolves go deep this year (or even win it all!), but then decide they don't want to keep all three max guys and go into the second apron. I think in that situation KAT would be the most likely guy to go, and I think we would have a difficult time competing next season without him (I doubt that we would get a good starter back for KAT...probably just role players and draft picks). I wouldn't want a down season after making a championship run, and adding an All-Star like LeBron to the mix would lead to another run I think.

I see Abe's reply that LeBron's people would never let him land in Minnesota, but I would argue it might be the perfect place for him to end up. After a season in which the Lakers either don't make the playoffs or have a quick exit, he's going to be hungry for one more championship run. And I think Rudy/LBJ/Ant/Jaden and Mike (who I think likes suburban Minnesota life and winning enough to come back on a team-friendly contract) would be very competitive.

An interesting idea at least...
I'm more of a branding guy than a math guy...

So, what's a less than 0% chance that James moves to Minnesota to finish his career?

Abe, that question takes you beyond math and into the realm of philosophy, for math can't properly depict the chances of James coming to Minnesota.

Ha, you guys are much better mathematicians and philosophers than I, but I don't think you're thinking through this enough (probably because you don't spend as much time in your car stuck in traffic as I do listening to NBA Radio, where this topic comes up frequently). Lebron has already said his goal is to play with his son, so it's logical to assume he is going to sign a 1-year deal with whomever (foolishly?) drafts Bronny. So the next question is: Who would waste a draft pick on a college player currently averaging 5.6 PPG? Obviously no team is going to draft Bronny because of Bronny...they're going to draft him because they can assume they will also get a year or two of a guy currently averaging 25/7.5/7.7. But despite those gaudy stats, only getting an all-star for one or two years tops is not worth a high draft pick. And further, only a team that thinks adding LeBron to their roster for one year might put them over the top, and there are only a handful of teams that meet that criterion. So I conclude that Bronny is going to be drafted by a team late in the first round that thinks adding an (albeit aging) All-Star might put them in the hunt for a ring. And I'm not sure you can find a team that meets both these criteria better than our Wolves. Maybe OKC who would love to put a veteran next to all that youth. Maybe the Clippers.

But somebody is going to draft him...almost every analyst I listen to believes that. And I think he might fit well with a KAT-less Wolves team for a couple years.
