I would expect a very cautious approach to his treatment and recovery. In other words....(assuming the early reports are correct) I don't expect to see him anymore this season.

I too have also torn my meniscus. I was living in Canada at the time so couldn't get surgery for over a year until I returned to NZ. It didn't stop me doing anything and I didn't suffer any pain. The only thing was when I crouched down low my knee would lock up and I would have to pop it back it back in place, sometimes needed help standing back up. Outside of that there were no issues and I would hike for days on end up the mountains of British Columbia without issue.

I got key hole surgery when I got back to NZ in 2015, was on crutches for a couple of weeks and fully recovered in about 4 - 6 weeks. Mind you I wasn't playing NBA basketball lol. But I was pretty active and fit.

The fact KAT was playing through it is a good sign. It's just whether they operate on it now and potentially lose him for the season, or shoot a couple of cortizone injections in to him and he plays through it and then deals with it in the off season. The risk of that is more damage and then likely missing a month or two at start of next season.

It really depends on the extent of it, but it's not a serious injury in my opinion.

Big opportunity for Jaden to get a few more offensive touches. I really hope the result of these games without Kat is going to more options on the roster rather than just more Ant iso.

I was going to write something similar. Obviously it hurts to lose our second leading scorer. But McDaniels has been effectively invisible so far this year on offense. He's much better than that. This might give him more opportunity to shine on that end (in addition to Naz)

You'd like to think that. But the last night KAT sat out, Jaden scored a whopping 2 points in his 26 minute against the spurs. In all fairness, he was more productive in KAT's other missed game. I actually blame Jaden for his lack of offensive production, not the game plan or his teammates. Jaden works his butt off on defense, but he seems content to be passive on offense rather than working to get the ball. You very seldom see him cutting or moving without the ball. I get that Ant is a terrible ball stopper. But KAT and Conley are both willing passers. They would find Jaden more often if Jaden would work harder to make himself available.

So while it would be nice to see Jaden pick up some of the slack, it's much more likely to be Ant and Naz. I note that Ant has scored 34 points in both KAt-less games this season. I expect to see more of that, along with 20-point games from Naz.

Well, if I'm the other team...I'm not going to let Edwards beat me. Somebody else is going to have to do it. I hope Edwards isn't going to try and play hero by jacking up 30 contested shots. They have to trust other guys to score.

This is similar to us losing DLO last year after the trade deadline. Everyone was super worried (or at least one person was ) The concern was "how are they going to replace DLO's scoring?" Somehow they managed. I don't want to discount what KAT brings. But we have some other good players on this team too. This is their time to step up.

I think people are massively underestimating the defense impact Kat had. The Wolves have been so bad this year in the Naz center lineups. Now that will happen a ton

Kek, that's why I think we will see a lot more SloMo with KAT out. I agree with you that KAT has been much improved on defense this year...heck, when you're 7 feet tall and reasonably quick, and you work hard on defense like KAT has this season (Finchie has lauded his effort in getting back on D often), you're bound to be a good defender. But the Wolves defense has actually been better this season with KAT off the floor than on...an incredible 105.3 when he is off, and a still very good 109.7 when he is off. I don't have the data in front of me, but I suspect that 105.3 reflects SloMo's excellent defense next to Rudy far more than it does Naz's.

If Jaden doesn't step up in these next 20 games, we're gonna realize we grossly overpaid for his services.
