I didn't see it coming...I predicted a .500 season, and right now they're on pace for 97 wins. When does a Minnesota team ever exceed our expectations? It just goes to show what can happen when you bring in a new coaching staff and approach. Glen Taylor, are you paying attention?

Gibson and Pelfrey both in the top 12 in ERA...Neil Allen for president!

Not to mention Plouffe's a serious player and Perkins has been money shutting the door in the 9th. 17 saves leads the majors.

My brother thoight the Twins could make a jump and end up a decent amout over .500 and I sorta made fun of him so...

The coaching change I think was good. It just seemed it was time for different voices. For some reason guys that had pushed the right buttons in the past Gardy and Anderson weren't and hadn't for a while.

Like Cam said it seems like Plouffe has turned himself into a more legit player each of the last couple years and may be a vet leader as well which player leadership on this team has lacked for a while imo which is why adding Hunter again was a good move.

Plouffe has always had a bat, but it's his defense that's been a difference maker only three errors on the season so far. That's what happens when a new voice comes in and demands more out of players.

I know I have always been an advocate for Mike Pelfrey...good guy, and I always liked the movement on his ball...but what he's doing this year is way beyond even my expectations. I'm guessing that Allen is to thank for speeding up his pace and for teaching him that splitter. He's ridiculously hot this year...2.28 ERA after today's performance. Now Perk has to save it, and we hold our one game lead over KC!

It's weird people seemed to forget he had a solid track record of success before the injuries. I'll say though I had no real positive expectations going into this season it seemed like there were too many spots taken up and he had been hurt a lot and struggled at times. Then the opportunities opened up and bam the guy has been fantastic. I think the main thing that's been different from even his successful Mets days is he is working much quicker. It would be nice if he kept being effective. The Twins are in a good place right now when it comes to starting pitching which is wonderful and sorta shocking.lol

Till he gives me a full season I won't believe it lol ;) I'm very pleased with his season so far and hope he keeps it up. Also Allen didn't teach him his knew splitty it was actually Eddie gurdardo, he's throwing exact same grip splitty Eddie had.

Yeah, you're correct jester...Pelf gave Eddie the credit in his post-game interview. I think Eddie and Neil are a great combo. They're both good-time boys who like to keep their pitchers loose, and the results are obvious.

I'm guessing Pelf's solo dancing in Torii's post-game dance party wasn't a pretty sight!

Good news that Santana was sent down to AAA after the game. He was clearly totally out of it mentally, both on offense and defense. I guess they'll try to get by with Escobar and Nunez, but Polanco may be up soon too.
