The trade
Re: The trade
Towns is now back to playing Center full time and doing so under Thibs minutes. Which will be 38 plus a night. He also will be fighting for his shots against three other players instead of one. Is he ready to make a living being physical for rebounds and getting put backs? Against Embiid, Giannis, Drummond, Jarrett Allen, Mobley, Bam, Turner, Duran, Porzingis , Vucevic and others in the East? He won’t be camping out on the perimeter anymore because of Gobert.

Donte has that dog in him that will fit in nicely with Ant, Mcdaniels and Gobert. Guys that can still contribute defensively even when shots aren’t falling. Kat was all or nothing, either hitting threes or sitting on the bench because of foul trouble because his frustrations led to reckless play.
Re: The trade
We'll be evaluating this trade for a long time, but I found this bit of news interesting. KAT's 6 3-pointers this season are fewer than all of the 8 Wolves rotation players other than Rudy. Even Jaden is ahead of him with 8.

Towns took only 14 shots per game the last time he was with Thibodeau... despite shooting a career high 55% fg. He averaged 3.5 three pointers per game at a career high 42.1% clip.
Andrew Wiggins took 16 shots per game that season.
Towns is currently 5th on the Knicks in shot attempts this season... at 9 per game.
