You can see it in the demeanor of the starters. Finch should be benching players that pull the shit they pull on a daily basis.

How do you maintain trade value for Randle if you bench him

his value is what it is and this has been Randle's issue since he got traded from LA.

He's the guy who doesn't inspire a bad team to take him on to develop him or mentor others and he's not a good enough player to be critical to a winning team. When Randle was a Knick, after year 1, the fans were done with him. Then he won MIP and it caused the fans to wanna extend him. Then he got a big extension and was combative towards fans the following year and were stuck with him. Then he improved and everyone loved him again. Then he got hurt last year and the team didn't miss a beat. Now he's here. The Wolves lied to everyone including themselves. This was always gonna be temporary. There was never a long term future for him here, as a starter or even as a bench player which he'll be forced into one way or another, but he doesn't feel that way today.

His value isn't gonna change no matter what. If he plays well, all he'll do is sucker YOU into thinking he's figured it out. Other teams know better at this point and it'll show in his free agent deal.

It occurs to me that Glen Taylor deserves this clusterfuck…

The flashes of competence are there. Ant is a kid, Karl was his big brother. Ant isn’t ready to be the kind of leader Karl was. The team is grasping for an equilibrium and maybe Finch keeping the rotation so tight is all that they can do to have a center to build from.

Minott has looked great tonight btw. Earning his minutes in a big come back and tight game in the third.
I'm afraid Ant is always going to be a kid. And I see that as the long term problem.

Long term, if you think he's a kid, you can't even dream about a new franchise guy til 2032.

2032!

There is always something better to do. I could sit in my backyard and count rocks, it'd be no more a waste of time than watching this team. Maybe things were better back when we knew to have no expectations!

Yeah, we are so much less than the sum of our parts, unlike last year.

The insanity is Finch doing the same things over and over again and expecting a different result. At some point you gotta change things up, and we seem to be way past that point.
What is he going to change up? Put Randle’s 20+ points per game on the bench? Put Rudy’s bad hands and one-dimensional play on the bench? There is no reformulation of this roster that transforms this .500 team into a championship contender. This is who we are now matter how Finch configures the lineups. This thing can’t be fixed by the head coach reconfiguring the lineups. The only remedy for what we’re seeing is the front office reconfiguring the roster and that’s a multi-year fix, not a fix for this season.

Three starters are bad to terrible offensive players right now. They are three of the most non-threatening starters in the L.

The other two have All NBA talent but are a terrible fit with each other.
