Re: Remaining Two Roster Spots
How about Cole Anthony or Westbrook for the min, and James Wiseman on a non guaranteed deal or two way if he's recovered from his Achilles tear from the first game of the season last year. Indiana was really high on Wiseman during camp and pre-season saying he looked great, than he tore his Achilles game 1.
Re: Remaining Two Roster Spots
I like Westbrook because of his toughness and competitiveness, but do we want another old PG? I’m not crazy about Cole Anthony. He’s another small small PG and we already have two of that type who are both far more talented than Cole. As for Wiseman I don’t know to think. We should consult Cam.rapsuperstar31 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 02, 2025 10:37 am How about Cole Anthony or Westbrook for the min, and James Wiseman on a non guaranteed deal or two way if he's recovered from his Achilles tear from the first game of the season last year. If it were me, wouldn’t even consider Wiseman. If I had to choose between Cole and Westbrook a the vet minimum, I’d choose Westbrook because of his size. He could actually play next to Conley or Dilly. I suspect most on this board would take Cole.

I think it’s best to allocate these final two roster spots to players who provide certainty — players you can count on to step into the rotation if needed deliver consistently at the level you expect. I guess Cole fits the bill in that sense, but Wiseman doesn’t.

I don't really care whether the next player is old I will take them if they can actually play Westbrook can play but he also a guy that does dumb stuff. I'd guess he will end up somewhere where he is at least a backup.
Cole is a better shooter so he can play better on and off the ball to some extent. I always think of him being bigger than he is not that he plays big but yeah.
When I was thinking about it this morning I was thinking why wouldn't the Pacers bring back Wiseman? They probably are looking for more center options and have a good opportunity. Idk enough about Wiseman the guy to know if I woukd want to sign him but the thought has crossed my mind. I don't want to make it sound like I think Wiseman is some cancer but I think this might not be the right spot for him since in theory we have a couple guys set to replace him.

Reviving this thread as we might here something eventually about another signing or 2.
Bones Hyland apparently has at least one good offer from a team in Europe. This article mentioned DVonte Graham who I had kinda forgot about. He went from nice story to an overpriced but worthwhile combo guard to basically out of the league.

I like Bones to some extent but it feels like he needs to do more to prove he is an NBA player. Maybe going to Europe and playing well there is the path he needs to take. I don't know how well his game would translate over there but idk if he wants to end up playing in the G-league this season.

Re: Remaining Two Roster Spots
Feels like Dillingham and Bones are a bit redundant. While Bones is obviously older and more experienced than Dillingham, he sort of is the same archetype of PG. Hopefully he finds a good landing spot somewhere.Monster wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 3:24 pm Reviving this thread as we might here something eventually about another signing or 2.

For what it's worth, WW and I both have a bunch of money on Bones signing with the Wolves before training camp begins...Q-is-here wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 3:53 pmFeels like Dillingham and Bones are a bit redundant. Re: Remaining Two Roster Spots
Speaking of fun undersized guards with a certain flash I was looking at various national teams that are playing this summer and saw Nadir Hifi is playing for France. I know several of us thought he showed somewhat well a year ago in summer league. To be honest he probably isn't better than Bones who would probably look good if he played in summer league but it's a reminder that there could be an international player out there that could be worth signing and it seems like this front office would pursue something like that. The coaching staff has plenty of people on it to help an international player.
Re: Remaining Two Roster Spots
The Wolves open roster spot for a ball-handler is a tough one. From the Wolves perspective, they want as competent and experienced a player they can find that will fit into the team culture with only spending the vet minimum and no guarantee of playing time. WW and I believe it'll end up being Bones because he will not find more than the vet minimum (in the NBA), and he already has a connection to TC and the Wolves. TC not only drafted Bones with Denver, but brought him in again on a 2-way with the Wolves at the end of last season.Monster wrote: ↑Sun Aug 10, 2025 9:12 amSpeaking of fun undersized guards with a certain flash I was looking at various national teams that are playing this summer and saw Nadir Hifi is playing for France. So, why hasn't he signed, yet? Bones could be waiting to see if a better opportunity comes along (maybe Europe). Or it could be the Wolves are waiting on other potential options to make their decisions, such as Malcolm Brogdon. Either way, I assume both parties have deadlines in mind at which time they will make their decisions.
Re: Remaining Two Roster Spots
I'd guess the Wolves have already offered Bones a non guaranteed deal or that they would like to have him back on that type of deal but also let him know they are hoping for someone more established to sign with them which would mean he would have a tough go of it to make the roster espcially now that Juzang is on a similar deal. Until guys like Brogdon or even Cam Payne have signed elsewhere or made it wildly clear they will not be signing with the Wolves I don't see any reason to guarantee any money or a reasonable chance at a roster spot to Bones. I like him but to me me is a fringe NBA player and a tier (these tiers are pretty small) below Juzang who hasn't even made the roster. I agree he could end up here but I think I would take the chances of the field of vet options signing here over Bones returning. I wonder how long Bones can wait on those Europe offers before he has to decide. For someone in his position for his career this is a good opportunity if he could stick on the roster. There is a chance in 2026 the Wolves will need another rotation guard depending on what happens with their FAs or other moves.60WinTim wrote: ↑Sun Aug 10, 2025 11:15 amThe Wolves open roster spot for a ball-handler is a tough one.
