It was a tough look on TV, too bright.
I’ve seen clips and it looked terrible. In person I actually liked it a lot.

My buddy is the head of the Timberwolves graphics and he was pissed because they made the wolves use the black and green jerseys and the NBA did every detail of the court. The wolves/graphics had 0 input this year and he was not happy.

Also that guy can usually get me free tickets and this is a good sign. There were no free lower bowl tickets available to him last night. Pretty packed crowd yesterday.

One last thing if you go to a wolves game I highly recommend buying last row lower bowl. Tickets are cheaper and it is so nice having no one behind you and a back wall for support. Been doing this lately and it’s a game changer
That sounds like the spot. I haven't been to a game in quite a few years, could have went last year for free a few times, but they were upper deck and against the Wiz or Hornets etc.., meh. I'm not as jazzed about going to games as I use to.

The court was a tough look on TV, you could even see shadows of the players a bit and the brightness was too much.

I'm OK with that for now since it's still early in the season and his minutes are fairly limited, but by normal backup PG standards, he's been terrible. Jordan McLaughlin would be infinitely better.

The bet is that the micro improvements turn into real improvements that ultimately don't make him a liability. When and if that happens is anyone's guess, but the improvements gotta come at some point or we're bleeding points everytime he's on the floor.

Net Rating -13.3 (which includes last night's blowout win!)
Q - Those stats are meaningless in a sample of only 7 games at 12 minutes per game. The only way to meaningfully evaluate him at this point in the season is based on what you see. In the first few games in played, he did look pretty bad. But he’s looked much better in the past few games - quite good except for his perimeter shooting. He’s limited his turnovers and played tenacious and pretty effective defense. He hasn’t had the benefit of playing with Ant and Jaden.

If we want to evaluate Dilly based on stats, we should go back to last season when we at least have a sample of 49 games, albeit similarly minutes per game (10.5). Last season he shot 44.1% from the field and 34% from behind the arc. He had a TS of 50.2% and an on/off deferential of +14.

I evaluate him as a 20 year old with only one year of college at 25 minutes per game and one season of 49 NBA basketball games at 10.5 minutes per game. His games and minutes thus far this season are very limited and the team hasn’t played very well. I’m not claiming Dilly is or ever will be the next Mike Conley, but the some on this board seem to be unduly focused on anything negative about Rob. I remain optimistic and want to see more. I feel the same way about Clark in spite of his terrible shooting so far this season and TSJ in spite of what we’ve seen from him this season. We’re 7 games into the season and before last night the entire team hasn’t looked good.

I trust Tim Conley knew what he was doing when he traded up to get Rob at #8. But it will be a year or two before we have a good sense of how good Rob will be.

Well, last year's stats were pretty bad too. Not sure where you are getting the On/Off differential from because he's had a negative on/off rating both seasons - this season especially.

Like I said originally, I think there is some obligation to keep force-feeding him minutes in order to do the proverbial "let's see what we got" thing given the fact he was a lottery pick and plays a position of need for us, but there is a cost to doing so, especially since our bench defense is already so compromised when Randle and Reid are in together.

One thing we haven't talked about here is the job Ju did guarding Lauri. There was really nobody on the Jazz to worry about other than George, and Julius took on Lauri and did a terrific job on him...held him to 12 points while he averages over 28. I've never seen Ju fight through screens like he did a few times last night. We could really use more defensive nights like this from Randle.

Ant covered Markinnen a lot as well and did a great job on him. Overall the team defense was more what we expect.

You sure, D'? I have to admit I didn't watch as closely after the first quarter, but I hadn't focused on Ant guarding Lauri. That's 6-4 guarding 7-1! Good on Ant if he did a good job in him.

Ant covered Markinnen in the first when Naz replaced Randle. Probably the best choice there...lol
