The tough part is and I'm not giving up on JJ, I don't see any great QB prospects in the draft. Not that I watch every team of course but I do watch highlights of most teams. I wanted to like a few guys but it looks like a weak QB draft. Might be a guy I find, haven't yet.
Hey it's better to suck then win 14 games and get trounced when the games really count.
Also GB has a good pass defense, so not all that surprising we sucked.
They don't need to quit on him but it is inarguable that he is not an NFL quarterback right now. I don't know what they do since Bosmer is the backup but you lose all credibility with the team if you keep putting McCarthy out there and you'll probably wreck him in the process
I think you have to risk wrecking him. Though I agree that ideally he sat for this season and worked on his strength, mechanics and more film study.
I might be one of the few that brings this up, but he's too easily sacked, one hand reaching out takes him down, versus watching a Caleb Williams a Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts etc... who has a D lineman in his face and they shed them with regularity. Boom, scramble and make a play either running or passing.
I get it, he had the knee surgery and now ankle sprain. He's just easily sacked which can make or break an extra 2-3 plays a game. Maybe more!
Now he may never be that strong as those bigger guys but cmon, he's so easily taken down it's so far from avg even.
It's just a perfect whirlwind of everything from the injuries to missing a year to reciever drops not seen in a decade, to bad playcalling at times, a oLine in shambles at times, etc... Just everything that could go bad pretty much has.
I disagree a bit about being easily taken down, he's wiggled out of quite a few tackles, but compared to those guys yeah he's a total push over lol.
From where I'm sitting they've shit the bed completely. I don't know how you fix it cause I'm not an NFL coach but.... They're continuing to look real dumb for opting to let Darnold walk

Darnold proved to me he'll never be clutch with how he folded so tremendously in those last two games. So that is one thing I like about JJ right now. He's generally shown throughout his career and life that he makes plays at the highest level when it matters most. Now his baseline is far below Darnold, but Darnold will never win a SB and thats the goal.
I agree JJ has wiggle, however not strength. The wiggle is nice but you got to be stronger too. I guess blame it on the injuries. He's just going to be years behind where he could be physically.
