Some movement in the past few days as OkC and the Spurs remain far ahead of the pack and the Wolves move past the Lakers for 5th place. I prefer a 4/5 matchup with Houston to a 3/6 matchup with Denver. Suns are really struggling without Brooks and Booker, and seem destined to finish in the 7/8 spots with the struggling Warriors. I've re-forecasted OkC with all their injuries, but I still have them finishing ahead of the red-hot Spurs. Here are the updated win predictions:

OkC 61
Spurs 60
Nuggets 54
Rockets 52
Wolves 50
Lakers 49
Suns 47

Tim, it's time for you to get off your lazy butt and post your Klunk-O-Meter!

I am guessing that you have Denver beating the Wolves on Sunday. That is a huge game!

Yep, I do...could be an anti-klunker for us and a klunker for them that would reduce the current 4-win gap on my spreadsheet to just 2! And could provide a little cushion over the Lakers too. I will add though that I have the Lakers losing their next two road games against the Suns and the Warriors, and injuries for their opponents gives them some anti-klunker potential.

The Klunk-O-Meter, assuming all playoff contenders are on equal footing...

Code: Select all

Top Teams: Cavaliers,Celtics,Knicks,Lakers,Nuggets,Pistons,Rockets,Spurs,Suns,Thunder,Timberwolves

Bottom Teams: Bucks,Bulls,Grizzlies,Jazz,Kings,Mavericks,Nets,Pacers,Pelicans,Wizards

Projections:
Seed	Team	Wins	Losses	Klunkrs	Anti-Ks	Net-Ks *
	1.	Spurs	64	18	0	1	-1
	2.	Thunder	63	19	0	0	0
	3.	Rockets	57	25	0	0	0
	4.	Nuggets	54	28	2	0	2
	5.	Lakers	53	29	2	0	2
	6.	Wolves	53	29	1	0	1
	7.	Suns	51	31	2	0	2

* Klunkers / Anti-Klunkers since the All-Star Break ("-" is anti-klunkers)
A win for the Wolves tomorrow would launch them into homecourt in the first round!

Fun to have two competing forecasts...I can't remember who was more accurate last year! Your win totals are much higher than mine across the board (except for Denver) so you're likely to have more klunkers than me. I note that you have had 7 klunkers and only one anti-klunker since the break. We both have OkC and the Spurs far ahead of the pack (albeit in reverse order) and a logjam at the bottom. Interesting that we both have the Wolves meeting Houston in round 1, although I have it as a 4/5 and you have it as a 3/6.

And yep, big game tomorrow in Denver...they're going to be ornery after the dirty Dort play and blowing a late 6-point lead yesterday.

Houston klunker in Miami. Wolves could be in a virtual tie for 3rd with a win tomorrow, although still a game behind Houston in the loss column.

How often have we been at these inflection points this season, only to fall flat on our face?! I guess in this case losing to Denver on their home floor is nothing to be ashamed of, but man, what an opportunity!

It does seem like this team is never able to rise to the occasion, doesn't it?!?

This is Ayo's first road trip with the team. 2-0 thus far. Sure would be nice to put an exclamation on it!

No klunker for me...I had Miami winning. Houston is struggling, but I still have them finishing 2 games ahead of us.

Tomorrow is one of those seize the moment games for the Wolves. Let's hope they rise to the occasion.
