I think teams have developed a template for slowing down the Wolves offense. It's up to Finch and company to figure out how to handle the type of defense being thrown at them.
Better now than in the playoffs...

We just need to move Randle for a good point guard. I said it last summer, I said it at the trade deadline, and I'm saying it now. Ant going all AAU for most of the game needs to stop. Get him off the balll and for God's sake get out and run.

Any ideas who they could try to get? I've been thinking about it for a bit and the guy I keep coming back to is LaMelo Ball.... Unfortunately.
I'm not even sure Charlotte wants to trade him anymore and his contract is more expensive than I'd prefer. I don't know his game that well to be honest but on paper he's a good fit as a playmaker who is shoots 3s at an average rate. He's also not a good defender, but no worse than Julius and if he can actually take over as the initiator, then theoretically Ant will have more energy to covert towards defense- which this team really needs him to do. If he really wants to join the MVP conversation than he needs to become an elite 2 way player.
It's funny too cause last night Ant was actually trying to facilitate and do some playmaking, his teammates didn't help him at all, but his passing is just so bad

Aussie, I think Garland would have been a great option. With Charlotte finally turning things around I doubt they will look to make big changes now. Maybe we can get Rollins in a Giannis deal.

Garland would have been a good get.
Don't know Rollins game really, but based on what I hear he'd be nice
I'm honestly just not sure that there is an available point guard that can fill a Julius Randle sized hole. It makes sense in theory that even if you downgrade on talent swapping Randle for a ball handler and better floor balance would be worth it. But how far of a downgrade is too much?
Players like Pippen Jr or Tre Jones make so much sense to me on this team, but that doesn't mean that ultimately the team is better.

Honestly I even wonder if even just getting a 3 level scorer who can actually handle the ball in the mold of Desmond Bane wouldn't be a better alternative than Julius.
Floor generals are just so rare these days

+1.
Finch isn’t the biggest problem. It’s the incosistent play of our so called 2nd best player.
Has there ever been a more polarising player on the Wolves roster than Julius? It seems like our ceiling and floor is dictated by the mental state Julius is in. We can’t have that going into next season.

To be fair, the real problem with Julius is the role that he is being put in- which and the fact that teams don't have to respect him as a shooter at all, so him and Rudy on the floor together is a problem.
Regarding his role, he has been tasked as the team playmaker/facilitator and he is woefully ill equipped to that at this point, especially if his shot isn't falling!

What would help more is if he simply moved the ball at a higher clip, versus dribbling into 3 players and turning it over. He's not understanding where the players are on the court and where to pass the ball. Teams just collapse on him and he's not been good enough lately to make the right read and on time.

We need our Phil Jackson. Clout matters to star players. This team needs a system that gets Edwards off the ball over and over again. I know Finch says this is the vision of his "flow offense" but in the same breath he is making Edwards the PG. Edwards is the greatest player Finch has ever coached, so how can he do anything but fawn over him in the big picture? I have a distaste for Kerr and dont know he is the perfect fit but to really get Edwards to the next level we need a coach with clout and championship experience. We have flatlined and may be starting to regress and I can't think of anything I have seen in our style of play to make me think its going to get better big picture. Finch did great to get us to this point but I am not seeing the levers he can pull to make the players realize the intensity they need.
