I'm happy they promoted him, but quite surprised. I believe that anyone added to the 40-man can't play minor league ball next season if there is a lockout...not a good situation for a young developing player. Oh well, still nice to have him up with the big club.

I had forgotten that three key members of our 2 world series teams (Hrbek, Gaetti and Laudner) also all homered in their first games...and within a month of each other in 1981!

I thought they had cleared the way for him to join the roster weeks ago it was just when he was healthy and up to speed. Now maybe if Kreidler had continued to even like a solid backup fringe SS then maybe it's a harder decision. Grey hasn't hit either and wasn't particularly good defensively and so it was time. When they release Arcia I knew he was slated to join the MLB fairly soon.
