Because we are now a second apron team. That’s why the min was assumed. We either operate in the second apron and our first in 34 becomes the last pick of the first round.

Or we make another roster move. The deadline to stretch a player is Sunday. So we’ll see if they stretch Green

So you were assuming we wouldn't make another move? Of course we would/will. The whole bit about only having the vet min to offer was nonsense.

From what I have read, the Wolves will be capped at the second apron by using the exception so they will need to drop some money before officially signing him. Im curious what TC has planned. They could cut Lyles but they could also trade someone for a lesser salary.

Or maybe there is some cap minutiae that we don't know about.

I’m not sure what kuminga year 1 looks like. But they were 3.2 million under before the kuminga deal so I’m guessing approximately 2 million over.

If they stretch green they save about 10 million. So they would be able to sign a vet min in the green spot if they choice to.

We’re in the 2nd apron now.

I wouldn’t say assuming they wouldn’t go over. It is just harder to do. They will have to stretch green by Sunday or make a trade, trades are harder due to not having assets to attach to take on Green.

In my opinion it’s going to end up being Kuminga and vet Min for Green and approximately 4.5 million on the books of Dead Cap.

ESPN is reporting that the Wolves are looking to trade Green for enough salary space to sign Kuminga without exceeding the 2nd apron and if they can’t find a trade they will waive and stretch him. To find a realistic salary-shedding trade, the Wolves will need to find a team that would like to swap a longer-term contract at a lower per year salary for Green’s expiring contract. That’s the only reason I can see a team agreeing to take Green for a lower-salary player without getting an additional sweetener from us as well. Since we don’t have any picks to trade, we can’t offer any realistic sweetener. I’m afraid we’ll end up waiving and stretching Josh. In either case, Kuminga is our starting PF for the next two or three seasons.

Yeah, but we have until late in the season next year to get under. It matters where you are then not now.
