Realistically, that's gonna be tough. Nobody's gonna be tanking this year. I think these numbers will be down across the board. We had 49 the last two years, but I think we'll have to be better than the last couple years to get to the same win total.

But I'm feelin' good, so 53 it is!

Drew, That is an absolutely KEY point you made above and why Kekgeek's more sober prediction makes sense to me. We may see a smaller spread between the bottom-dwellers and top tier teams.

Version 2.0...Still quite bullish! Abe, when is that bucket of cold water going to show up!? Kekgeek gave us the luke warm treatment, but I'm waiting for the ice bath! Don't make me do it!

I'm happy to see all the optimism here, and I'm also about as excited as I can remember for this season to start. And I think ultimately the acquisitions of Ball and JK are going to pan out. BUT...

There are too many reasons our squad shouldn't have more wins than last season:

-it's difficult to incorporate players into a system, and bringing 2 new players into the starting lineup is going to create some struggles early in the season
-as Drew mentioned, the elimination of the incentive to tank is going to lead to fewer cupcake wins.
-in addition the East has gotten much stronger...games against teams like Washington no longer look easy
-Donte may not be our best player, but I would argue he had as much to do with winning last season as anyone on the roster...he will be back earlier than we think, but we're going to miss him the first half of the season
-I will be holding my breath every time LaMelo looks like he's hurt...we can't afford to have him miss a lot of games
-the impact of the absence of Naz on Jaden...they were best friends, and him being gone may hurt Jaden's mood and performance.

All that said, I think the national media is too negative about the offseason moves, so I'm not going "under" the Vegas total. So I'll go slightly over and say 49 wins.

Now, you might think that I'm not bullish on the postseason, based on my 49-win projection. But I am...I have them losing in the WCF again. My reasons?

-JK and Ball will be fully comfortable in the Wolves system by year end
-Donte will be back, and working well with Ball after two months on the court with him
-Joan may struggle early in the season, but I expect big growth during the season.

49 wins and a loss in the WCF.

It's a 52 win season...3rd seed ...book it
