TJ just hasn't played a lot and like a 1/4 of his NBA minutes have been in the playoffs. The expectations for him are all over the place. His possible role of what he can or can't do has morphed since being drafted. I personally don't think he looks big which is odd but he has a burst that's pretty unique even for a guard and he does have size. Idk if he finally breaks through this year but I'd guess they are gonna give him a shot at regular minutes to find out. I'm cheering for the guy but I think there is reason for some skepticism too. If he can become a legit spark off the bench guy even if it's mostly offensive ability that could be kind of a big deal. They haven't had that from a guard for a while. TJ Bones and Ayo being guys that can come of the bench and be a factor getting some offense would be nice. For a while it was like Naz and maybe a decent player sometimes not even as good as Donte.Leado01 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2026 9:32 am Cody looks like an NBA player. Is he a good enough defender/rebounder/player to warrant taking away time from other guys? Not my call, but he looks the part. (Josh Minot looked the part)
I genuinely don't get all the negativity regarding Shannon on this board....we bitch about guys that can't shoot and Shannon can handle/shoot and distribute. He's not a great team defender but we've seen him be a very good on ball defender last season..he's big, and he's a change of pace off the bench
Meanwhile Cody Williams has played like 2.5 times more NBA minutes than TJ. They were on a bad tanking team but they are still NBA minutes and he is what like 3 or 4 years younger? it would be nice to end up with a functional player there and would help make up for some other mistakes.
