I wouldn't say Plouffe isn't together right now in his last 10 games he's batting .333 with OBP around .390

I saw that. Not the way I wanted it to happen. I was hoping they could trade Escobar.
I think trading Escobar would be a mistake. They finally found a solid SS they need to hold onto him until they have a guy that actually seems worthy. It sounds to me like Polonco isn't really a SS but he should absolutely be up getting playing time and yeah maybe even at that spot to see what we have in him.
The position thing is weird. When he was with the Twins, he played more SS than 2B, but the Rochester web site has him listed as a 2B.
I think a perfect time to trade a guy is when he's functional but not essential. Polanco can play short, and Nunez needs to play short if Sano is going to play third.
Man Suzuki is absolutely raking right now. It will be interesting to see if he hits those 485 plate appearances to get that 2017 vesting option. At this point I don't see how the Twins let him go either way. They don't have any other options that have shown enough at C. I see Herrmann keeps hitting but that Palka guy we got for him just got promoted and then hit 2 HRs in his first game.

Man, they are just killing the ball...biggest offense in the AL since June 1! Even their outs are rockets this series...and against very good pitching. I'm bored with the cliché "hitting is contagious", but it couldn't be any more true with this club. Grossman leads the team in OBP, but he, Vargas and Buxton can't get on the field because the other guys are doing so well.

2) Bill Smith's 4 year tenure gets ripped a lot by Twins fans, and he did have some blunders. But three 16 year olds that he took a chance on 2009 were in the starting lineup the past 2 nights...Sano, Kepler and Polanco.
I was a little concerned about Sano coming into this season. I think he got to the majors and had some success. He felt like he made it and let off the gas. Hopefully these struggles make him put in the work. I really hope Kepler, Buxton, and Sano are the foundation of this team, but not sure any of these guys have the leader traits to them.

I think you bring up a good point about leadership. IMO that lack of leadership has been a real problem for the Twins since they have struggled. Sure injuries and lack of talent have been massive factors too but since Cuddyer left and one season or Torii it seems to me nobody was up to the task. It seems like in baseball you don't have to have your vocal clubhouse leaders be the top players to have a really good team so hopefully they can find guys (or foster people in the organization) that bring that to the table.

Even though he is no-where as accomplished, I am concerned Sano will enter "2002 Randy Moss" zone this winter. If he tries to recreate the "The Road Warrior" chase scene on the Hennepin Avenue bridge, I won't bat an eye.

Have you seen Molitor's latest comments? It seems there is a very real possibility he gets sent down to AAA.
