I just don't see any avenue towards solid play and even if they somehow eek out a playoff birth it will be short lived. I don't know what their cap situation is, but this offseason they clearly have to part ways with Peterson in order to pursue a few quality linemen.

Tell that to the Ravens and the Giants before they went on to win the Super bowl. Im not suggesting o hold out much hope but you don't mail in a season you never know what can happen.

What kind of contract would you be willing to give to Kalil? Coming off an injury and he hasn't exactly been a terrific player since his rookie year I can't imagine he can demand too high of a salary but who knows I guess. I'm probably in the 5 million range (probably basically 1 year guaranteed) without researching it too much and I may not even go that high just throwing out a number. Part of it depends on what other options are available both talent and how much $$$$$$$ it costs. Maybe he would be a pretty good RT. Idk he might be worth the gamble at the right price I guess that's all I am saying.

Rashod Hill is being signed off the Jags practice squad to take Jake Long's roster spot. The Jags wanted to sign him to their roster but he picked the Vikings because it was a better opportunity. They may as well look for a hidden gem they already tried the vet trash bin.

I've been a Vikings fan for far too long to be an optimist.

Fair enough. I'll try and remember that but you may need to remind me. :)

In normal times I'd offer him a two year deal with the 2nd a team option. Of course the Vikings really don't have any leverage with their O-line so they're probably going to be lucky to sign him to a one year deal at a team friendly rate even though he has been terrible. They likely are in no position to bring AD back as they'll need every penny they can find to sign two-four linemen and they can't shop the clearance isle this offseason.

Yeah you make a good point they need somebodies. They have some leverage if he wants to come back to the Vikings. Plus the guy is coming off a hip injury and like you said wasn't fantastic the last couple years. What is that worth on the open market? No idea plus his wife is from the area. There is some financial cost in moving.

If he receives any outside interest that little leverage dries up IMO. He and his agent know that at minimum they need two excellent signings on the line, and likely three. He had that great rookie season and we thought that position was locked up for a decade but hasn't stayed healthy since. Do you really want him back? At this point he almost has to be a last resort signing.

I'd be fine if he came back on the cheap to fight for his job and be a backup if he loses it. Otherwise I'm letting him walk. The real hope is Joe Thomas is still available for a second round pick and whatever this off season.

Rashod Hill signed. No way he plays before Beavers.
