Agreed. Nick Gordon has to be available. I would even trade Royce for a cy young type start at this point.

It's still too early but Romero could be showing why sometimes dealing prospects for established players can be a good strategy.

Royce Lewis should be, and likely is, about as untouchable as it gets. Nick Gordon should be used as a trade chip, but we should be excited for a Lewis/Polanco middle infield in the very near future.

I'm sorry Cam I disagree about Lewis. He has been brutal in High A Ball. For a guy who's number one ability coming into the draft was his plate discipline. He's boasting 77/21 K/BB and is striking out 25% in High A Ball. At this point his bat is major concern, I know he's only 20 years old but in 506 at bats at high A he has an average of .241 and obp of .312 with those terrible strike out rates at that level. I hope I'm wrong on him and that his hip issues has been lingering all year but right now I just don't see it.

Good comp on Lewis is Carlos Correa. Former number 1 pick also was 18 and had a lot of the same comparisons as Lewis. This is what Correa did in A Ball when he was 19. He hit for .320 average, OBP of .405, 83/58 K/BB ratio, and a strike out rate of 18%. Not saying he should have these number but he should be pretty darn close to them.

Also the emergence of Arraez has made Lewis expendable. Mets are not giving up DeGrom for Nick Gordon, Rooker and filler but we literally could do a one for one deal for Lewis and taken on half of DeGrom contract.

My point is he's the Andrew Wiggins of this twins. Yes he has potential but if he has one more year like this he will no longer be a top 50 prospect and no longer can get you an ace.

I hear you on Royce's struggles this year, however, he was too damn good last year as a 19-year old at A/A+ levels to ignore. His track record in the minors is too clean and productive to suddenly write him off and admit him as a bust or a prospect to trade.

In 121 games last year, Royce hit 14 HR, 74 RBI, 83 scored runs, 28 SB (8 CS), and had .292/.352/.451 splits.

He reminds me a lot of Trevor Story and that's a player I'm not ready to give up on. Imagine if the Rockies would have given up on Story after his poor age 20 season in A+ ball. Or were discouraged by his production after his callup to AA the following year. Some guys have elite tools and need some patience to put everything together. Royce will be fine.

Big two week stretch here. If they can keep a 3 game lead they have the easiest schedule in baseball from August on.

Agreed. We need guys to stay healthy. It would be good to take 2 of 3 from the Indians to start the stretch.

We have 13 games left with the Indians.

Twins take the first 2 games in cleveland and Max Kepler continues to have Bauer's number. Nice to see Cave do some good work with the bat today.

I just saw that Mejia was DFA'd. I was always a big fan of his. What a disaster of a season it's been for him. It was time to move on. I noticed Nunez bat has dropped off also. Fortunately the Twins have done a nice job with adding utility guys and infielders.
