Huge win tonight for playoff positioning. Sac-Town has erased a 21-point deficit, and a Jazz loss would leave the Wolves with a 2-game cushion in projected wins over Utah and OkC...go Kings! We're now also one win ahead of the Pelicans, and tied with the Lakers for 8th place with 41 wins...and we have the tiebreaker. If the season ends like that, we would visit GS in the first play in game, and if we lost that one, we would get another chance hosting the winner of the Lakers/Pels game. Our position feels a lot better tonight than it did 5 hours ago, especially with both KAT and Ant saying they're ready to go.

And speaking of that, I just scored tickets for Wednesday...we need to beat Atlanta. I like that they will be on the back end of a BTB, and that Murray has a non-Covid illness.

Beating Atlanta at home Wednesday night is obviously essential to the Wolves playoff hopes. It's also the sort of game the Wolves have been losing all season against teams they should beat. So we'll all counting on you, FNG. Get us a win Wednesday night and then you'll have to travel to San Francisco on the 26th for the Warriors game before catching a flight to Sacramento later than night. Then you'll have a day off before you travel to Phoenix for the Suns game on the 29th. It doesn't end there because you'll have to return home the the Laker game on Friday followed by the Portland game at Target Center on Sunday. Then you hit the road again to New York for the Brooklyn game on April 4. You'll have a few days off before you head to San Antonio for the Spurs game on April 8. Then its back home for the last game against the Pelicans on the 9th. If we lose to Atlanta on Wednesday, then you can just stay home because we don't want losers anywhere near this team. :)

LOL, thanks for offering to cover my travel costs, Lip...I assume I can fly first class?

Actually my in-person record is not very good this year, so I may be one of those losers you don't want near the team! But I actually will be present for two of those game...tomorrow against Atlanta, and the Laker game on the 31st (my Little in the Big Brother program is LeBron's biggest fan, and he would never talk to me again if I didn't get tickets when he's in town!). I will do my best. Go Wolves!

The one thing that wolves have going is tie breakers.

Wolves have the tie breaker over the Mavs, Thunder, Jazz, Lakers, pelicans. Then play warriors on Sunday if they win they 1.5 game lead over the warriors in conference record for the their tie breaker.

The reason the Wolves are trash is because they lose games like this one coming up. Bet everything you have on Atlanta.

Nightmare scenario, WW...KAT (and maybe Ant return), and everyone in the arena goes crazy...and then we get blown out by 20 and leave with 10 minutes to go :furious: . It's happened before this season, and we simply can't allow it to happen before.

OkC's win against the Clippers reduced my comfort level on my projected wins spreadsheet...the Pels, Jazz and Thunder are now all just one win behind us, and we need to finish ahead of two of them to make the playoffs. The good news is though that (as kek says above) we hold the tiebreaker against all of them, so essentially are cushion is 2 games, not one. Still, this is a game we need to win.

Let's win this one tonight, and then one of the next three road games (in which we will be underdogs in all three), and move ahead of the Lakers for 8th place. The PG injury puts 6th place in play, but I'm keeping my goals more reasonable. Let's finish 8th with 2 shots of making the playoffs.

I think I would be shocked if the Wolves win this one! Every time I start to feel like they are making some progress they throw up all over themselves. I'm fully expecting them to lose and yeah it might be badly too! D:

A win tonight is important, but is not a final nail in the coffin if they lose. The win or loss pails in comparison to the milestone of getting KAT back.

Having said that, the playoff race is a major cluster-f###! The Thunder beat the Clips? The Jazz beat the Kings? Anything from 5th seed to out of the playoffs is on the table for so many teams.

So, welcome back KAT! And a win will be icing on the cake!

Only 3 more home games (and 8 total) after tonight... and the Wolves are on a 5-game home losing streak.

Lose... and the Wolves need help the rest of the way.

Win... and they hold serve and control their destiny.

Atlanta is on the back end of a back-to-back. Oh oh... we've seen this story before. Gotta change the script.

Losing tonight against the beatable Hawks puts the Wolves in really big trouble, in my opinion, even after a surprise win over the Knicks on Monday.

With a loss, Minnesota would be 36-38 with a looming road trip against Golden State, Sacramento (Wolves on a back-to-back), and Phoenix. And then the first game back in the Target Center is against a feisty Los Angeles (Lakers) team. They could easily drop every game in that stretch and be 36-42.

The end of March could derail play-in tournament seeding for Minnesota -- as in, they could miss it altogether in a worst-case scenario. They'd have to win their remaining four games against Portland, Brooklyn, San Antonio, and New Orleans just to finish with 40 wins if it unfolded that way, which won't be good enough. Ugh.
