Missed second half to go shopping...would have rather watched Wolves lose

What's it going to take for him to get a little more respect from the officials? So many of his fouls involve marginal contact at best. The great defenders in the league tend to get more leeway, but he hasn't started getting that respect. If he had been able to play in the 3rd I think we win. I'm not sure if it's right to cast the blame on him, but him not being available killed us. When he was out, it was matador defense on the way to the rim for the Hornets.

Towns shot atrociously. If he had just shot poorly, it's a win.

I agree with you that the wolves win if he doesn't get into foul trouble.
He is though getting to good to not deserve some blame when he is playing bad/foul trouble.
It's one game, no big deal but with the bench injuries wolves need Mcdaniels going forward to play at a high level

Don't worry we have Mr. 4th Quarter
Mr 4th quarter froze Ant out again from my eyes. Too bad that game was winnable. Go Wolves.
Ant took seven shots in the fourth quarter. He was froze out?
From 7 mins on Dlo was calling his own number. As usual half were good shots abd half were bad. Ant had 2 shots when the game mattered. Dlo thought he had it but couldnt make those key 3s down the stretch. Dlo played a good game but we will deal with those bad shots as long as he is our pg.
Respectfully, no, I cannot agree. Minnesota was down 12 before D'Angelo Russell gave them a jolt and brought them back, along with some solid team defensive play.
7:00: Gobert made two-point FG (Russell assisted)
6:43: Gobert made two-point FG (Russell assisted)
5:48: Russell made two-point FG
5:15: Russell made two-point FG
3:33: Russell made three-point FG
2:46: Russell missed three-point FG
2:37: Towns made two-point FG (Russell assisted)
58.5: Russell missed three-point FG
Last three-point attempt was a [bad] desperation heave down five. I just can't see how you watched that game -- that quarter, specifically -- and came away with "D-Lo froze out Ant" or anything resembling blame his way.
You want to point out Karl-Anthony Towns shooting 1-8 in the third? I'll hear that. Jaden McDaniels having more personal fouls than points, or the bench providing little to nothing? I'll hear that too. But y'all need a different scapegoat tonight.

Good question. 6'10 wings shouldn't be able to defend 6'0 guards like he routinely does. I tend to wonder if officials are just anticipating illegal contact when he's guarding smalls because of his imposing length/frame.
However, some of his fouls are just silly ones on him that he can clean up. He's too important to Minnesota's defense to be routinely in foul trouble. Avoid the mental mistakes and hope the officials start giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Fuck man. I was on KAT the whole game. Dlo's pull up and wide open miss were big shot decisions. Like I said, Dlo played well. He called his own number along with Towns and not Ant. Hes not the reason we lost but I didnt see him looking to feed Ant when it mattered. Chill.
Re: Wolves vs Hornets GDT
Last year into this year 20% of Dlo's shots have been the pull up 3 where he has shot around 33%. Finch should pull him everytime he does it, especially in the 4th quarter where it dips below 30%. There is no room for him taking that shot in a game of professionals.

Re: Wolves vs Hornets GDT
I had already decided not to watch this game, and after seeing the score and reading this thread, I'm certainly not going to watch it. I enjoy watching Ball play, but the players Charlotte had on the court today are unwatchable in my opinion. I really hate the way Rozier, Plumley and Oubre play.
So now I have to come to terms with us losing to a 5-14 team missing a couple good players. By my count, 4 or 5 of our 8 losses are games we should have won by double digits, including today. And our wins have been mostly unimpressive...the majority of them against teams that were either terrible or missing key players or both.
I was a big advocate for the Gobert trade, but I'm teetering on the brink of going to the dark side and ripping it and acknowledging we are going to be mediocre at best for the rest of this decade. Yeah, I know that is a knee jerk reaction, but the start of this season has been nothing short of disastrous. And I don't want to hear that we need time to incorporate the trade into our system. We replaced one (1) player in our starting lineup with an All Star, just like Cleveland did, and they seem to be doing just fine despite some key injuries (including their loss to us). This post will elicit some rationalizing, but I won't buy any of it. Losing to the Hornets with our starting lineup healthy tells me everything I need to know.
It's especially horrible because I was starting to buy into the 5-game "winning streak". I was getting ready to take advantage of the Wolves Black Friday ticket sale, but I'm just not interested anymore.
OK, I'm crabby because I just tested positive for Covid and feel as awful as the Wolves performance today. If anyone is interested in some Blue Eyed Soul, I have four good seats for Darryl Hall and Todd Rundgren at the State Tuesday evening, and would be happy to sell them to you at a nice discount.
Life sucks right now...

Don't give me that. Anthony Edwards calls his own number possession after possession, game after game -- for better or worse. And yet he still took seven shots in the fourth quarter! So much for being frozen out of the game. He got his opportunities, including his own missed three-point attempt(s) late.
I'd also add that Ant needs to get a lot better moving without the basketball. We can't logically ask for teammates to find him when he doesn't consistently make himself available relocating on the perimeter or cutting to the basket. It's a two-way street. He can't rely on Chris Finch to run isolation after isolation for him and stall ball movement in the process. If he wants the ball, then he needs to earn it, and go get it.
