If Kobe could help Andrew become more than a scorer and play with more intensity, I'd love it. I think Zach has the intensity but he really needs work on defense and passing. Lets hope this happens this summer.
My points weren't to discredit Kobe Bryant the player.
But a good player doesn't = a good mentor. Or coach. Remember, Magic Johnson held the honor of coaching the longest losing streak in Lakers history that this year's team was chasing.
Here's one man's take on the difference between Kobe and everybody's favorite Timberwolves mentor: http://www.slate.com/articles/sports/sports_nut/2007/06/kobe_and_kg.html
I read the article and it portrays Kobe as selfish and KG as loyal. This is nothing new, but I still would love to see Kobe mentor our two young players. Kobe knows his time is up as a player and he still loves the game and I believe he would seriously like to help our guys. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Maybe. Then again, how is his mentoring of the young pups on the Lakers going this season?

If anything he is starting the recruitment process to bring them to the Lakers. No thanks.

He could do that anyway, but we got these guys locked up for quite a while and KAT, KG and our new coach will be bigger influences and if we build something special, I see them staying.
