Trade him to the Kings for 8, McLemore, Thomas and Landry. Let him suffer next to Gay and Cousins for a year and then try to go to a contender on a max deal. That way he can miss the playoffs next year and then realize it isn't so easy trying to get paid and be on a winner at the same time. If he takes a pay cut, so be it. At this point I don't trade him to anyone remotely good just because he doesn't even have the guts to come out and say he wants out. Dancing around the issue does nothing but piss everybody off. Say you're out and leave the agent crap behind. You don't have an inherent right to be on a winning team. So go be someone else's problem so we can move on to players who care more about fixing problems than running from them.

Yeah, if Melo goes to the Heat I'm done with the NBA.

All 3 are playoff teams when their star forced a trade ir left because of their desire to 'win'. Cant see love or this situation being any different. Its time to move on from love.
Guess where all of those teams are. The Lottery.
Exactly, which is why im pissed at love and the system and culture that allows players this kind of power.
Keeping love isnt the solution alex. Doing that will just pro long the agony. Trusts is broken and we are at riak of losing him for nothing or getting far less in return. Im afraid making the playoffs might not be enough. It wasnt for the 3 teams mentioned and it wont be for us.
The system of not allowing shitty front offices get away for being terrible? Do you think it's by chance that the two best front offices in the league are playing in the finals? What this situation SHOULD do is make Glen Taylor look in the mirror and say that what he's doing isn't working. What is he doing instead? The complete opposite. THATS WHY this team hasn't made the playoffs in a decade
Alex, the best teams battle in the finals and the best win every year. The system right niw is there are 30 teams vying for the title. Yes, some front office make blunders and deserve to be at the bottom. No one is making excuses for glen or any owners. But when players starts demanding to be paired up with other stars and forced their way to it,It isnt right anymore. We might as well dissolve 10 teams so stars can play together and fulfill their goals of winning. There is a professional way of handling this and going the public route with your agent working on it is creating a tense and paranoid situation for all involved.
Kevin Love would be here and be happy if you gave him either Paul George or Steph Curry to play with. Both were easily attainable for the wolves. Spurs drafted all their guys, Thunder drafted all their guys, Pacers drafted all their guys, What other good teams are out there that built their team on FA besides the Heat?

Great Point Alex
The failure of this franchise hasn't been the players, its been the suits. Period. Love is saying what his agent is telling him to say, but his actions say it all-- I have had enough of this crap.

world, LeBron walked from the money via FA, but I believe both Carmelo and DH were traded on a S&T, and I also believe that was before the new CBA prohibiting that...so really, Carmelo and Howard didn't risk walking from the money...well Howard did, but not until he left the Lakers. Dwight never came across as about the money to me anyway though. LeBron is about his legacy, Dwight just wanted to be in a new scenario, and I bet Melo wouldn't have walked if Denver had dared him to.
Love may or may not be willing to take less money, but I don't think it's any sort of given.

I think it's more likely LeBron goes to the Knicks
