Lip, who that is left available would you be willing to give up that first with Aldrich if you knew we could sign him? I'm not sure how to gauge exactly what guys are worth, and a lot of the guys we're talking about here I would hope we could get for just a few million not 7 or 8.
One guy I think I would be willing to give up that pick for would be Bogdanovic. With the Wiz signing Meeks and probably having to break the bank to keep Porter, I'm guessing they wouldn't match. But I'm also guessing we'd have to clear Aldrich (which would also probably mean losing the pick) to make room to sign him. He's a good enough player, I'd think real hard about it.

I would also guess CJ Miles would ask for more than the room exception, although I don't like him as much as the consensus.

I always liked Afflalo. For just a little money, I guess that'd be cool with me. Although he seems to take a few too many shots in the middle of the floor and I'd rather he took only 3 pointers.

Somebody mentioned Nick Young, yeah, that guy hit a lot of threes last year, although I don't know how much I want a knucklehead like him around. Did he play with Taj at USC?

Dunleavy's a vet minimum guy, so no need to give up the pick for him. Same for Justin Holiday, who I'm not really interested in anyway. Nick Young is toxic. Flip talked to me about him from his time coaching the Wizards. Flip would even consider bringing him into a locker room.
The two guys I might be willing to give up the pick to get are Afflalo and CJ Miles, but I'm not sure I'd do it even for one of them. More likely Afflalo because he's defensively a two-way player.

I don't know if I'd be willing to give up the pick to get the space for Afflalo, and I used to really like him, although I agree, having a guy who can shoot the three and defend is better so maybe I'd consider it. I'm just not sure he's the player he used to be. Same with CJ. I feel like we should be able to get a guy cheap enough to fit into the room exception that would be as good as those guys if they held out for more.
Who else is out there? Who are the other 3 point shooting wings who might be worth giving up that future first for? There are some RFAs that would be worth it (KCP and Hardaway), but their teams would almost definitely match. I don't think the Wiz would match for Bogdanovic though.
EDIT: Watch some Bojan highlights if you're interested. A guy like this could really help us space the floor and give us scoring off the bench. After thinking about it, I'd give up the future first to dump Aldrich and land this guy.

Double EDIT:
The Kings have just offered Porter a max (about 26-27 mil per year), and if he signs it (which he will if he doesn't get a similar offer from another team), the Wiz will match. That would make it basically impossible for the Wiz to match an offer for Bogdanovic, right?

No thanks.
Keep in mind there are players other teams may either flat out dump or make a minor trade that's basically a salary thing and we get someone useful back. There are guys that haven't even been talked about here like Gerald Green or the toked up Reggie Bullock. 3 of the FA that have signed new deals this year are undrafted players. It's time to find one of those guys. Regardless what the Wolves have going for them right now is a decent level of opportunity espcially for wing players because they have nothing. Opportunity talks often even more than $$$.
Edit: morrow is a FA.
Re: Which shooters do we target in free agency?
I think I agree with those who want to keep the pick. Let's sign the best wing with the room exception and then find some young shooters that can be developed into the next sharpshooter.
Re: Which shooters do we target in free agency?
We would still have to outbid other teams for Bogdanovic and there are teams interested in him because he can shoot and score yes he can do that. It may cost all the cap space we would possibly open up...or he may even cost more than that so we may not even get him. Supposedly he can't defend anyone which could be a problem. If we had the cap room...sure but I wouldn't give up a pick for him.
Look at the players picked 20 or so and beyond in this draft and think about if you would want to deal away a chance to get one of those guys for one of these guys. Sure there is a decent chance those guys aren't any good but the guys we are talking about here are decent NBA players why not get a shot at a guy that's cheap and can develop like we have in Tyus and Patton? Remember we now that we have the G-league we can send those guys too which makes those picks even more valuable.

What about Vince Carter on a cheap year deal? I'd assume he would rather play here than on the kings. Yes he is 40, but also still a net positive.

Re: Which shooters do we target in free agency?
I'll throw out a couple of names as vet minimum guys.
C.J. Wilcox. He was a 4 year guy at Washington who shot 39% from 3. He never got any run at the Clippers and Magic. Only 26 years old. Probably worth a vet minimum to see if all he needed was opportunity.
and Ian Clark who I felt we should have signed last year instead of Rush. He could cost us the room exception though.
Otherwise, Thibs better be scouting summer league hard.
