Re: Wolves at Nuggets R2G5
minor miracle that they're only down 6 given how inept they were offensively.
Re: Wolves at Nuggets R2G5
The Wolves do not deserve to win this game. The coaching staff better figure something out. Maybe stop screens for Ant as it just initiates the Nuggets traps?
Re: Wolves at Nuggets R2G5
Ant can't possibly get in the paint so much and not actually be fouled.
Re: Wolves at Nuggets R2G5
This crew is all over the damn place. They give Gordon to charge calls when he was leaning on both and the other charge the defender was literally moving his feet. Also looked like NAW was basically wrapped up with no call too. Give me a break already.
Also, Rudy & SloMo were painful to watch that half. Team needs to stop the sloppy nonsense too.

Ant needs to get loose. We actually have to go for loose balls in the 2nd half and come up with one out of every 3.
Why can't we just grab the ball? Rudy? Naw? Slomo?
11 Turnovers to 6. How are we in this game? I feel a 20 point loss coming on.
And no, we shouldn't go to Garza in this situation.

Well that wasn't good, but on the bright side, we're only down 6. This is a completely winnable game. We shouldn't let our frustration with the moment obscure our view of the situation.
The main thing I'm wondering is what the coaching staff has been doing to help us counter their double teams. They've been doubling us all night, and they've doubled just about everybody. KAT, Naz, Ant, even Rudy. That has caused a lot of our chaos on the offensive end, but it's also a great opportunity for us to swing the ball to open shooters. NAW has hit a couple shots off of that, but for the most part, I think we've kind of failed to respond to those doubles, and that's something that the coaches and players have had ample time to recognise and respond to.
Gotta clean this up and remember that we're absolutely capable of closing this gap and winning this game. If we play in a way that reflects our frustration, we're much more likely to lose. We need to be constructive and confident and we'll have a much better chance to take this game.

Feels like we should be down by 20 rather than 6...moral victory?Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2024 10:50 pm Ant needs to get loose. We actually have to go for loose balls in the 2nd half and come up with one out of every 3.

I think the reason it's closer than it feels is that we're 6 for 13 on threes and our aggressive perimeter defense isn't giving them any good looks. Denver is only 3 for 10. If we continue with that defense and get Ant going we may have the first close game of the series.

Edwards, Morris, Gobert, Anderson and McDaniels.
I'm surprised the Nuggets didn't just quadruple team Ant and get away with it because nobody else can be trusted to make a basket.
Defensive lapses and all, they're down 6 because they can't generate offense outside of KAT and NAW. It would be nice if McDaniels and Reid can actually stay on the court and contribute on that end. If Jokic is gonna get 35+ anyway, why have Gobert out there instead of a big who can catch and finish?

Re: Wolves at Nuggets R2G5
I've been saying get Ant the ball off of a screen. Like Ant starts in the corner then runs through a Rudy screen to get him 1 on 1 on Joker. Then he can drive, shoot or pass quickly before they can load up. Having him get the ball at half court to just get doubled isn't that great. Sure hopefully we can move the ball and get some open lanes and shots. But I'd try some other things too. We need more player and ball movement.

So much better!
