Yup! It might even take 5 teams...

On a side note, as mention a few times, Miami is a very logical destination for Randle. Miami has stated they have not been offered an appealing trade offer. And they have a set a "deadline" to get something done for a week from Friday when the Heat returns from their extended road trip.

I really expect Randle to be here for the remainder of the season, but I'll be keeping an eye on those upcoming deadlines (a week from Friday, and the trade deadline).

Interesting. I have Detroit listed as one of the few teams that might be interested in acquiring Randle and I see them as a viable trading partners for the Wolves given the cap room they have to absorb salary and help give us the cap relief we’d want in a Randle deal.

Detroit won’t trade Hardaway Jr. for Randle. They’ve been leaning heavily on Tim with Ivey done for the season and Tim has been producing really well. Swapping Randle for Simone won’t work because of inadequate salary match. But Fontecchio could be combined some another player. Swapping Randle straight up for Stewart would work under the CBA and it would save us around $15 million in cap space. I’m not sure he makes much roster sense for us, but the point of trading Randle is freeing up cap space and potentially getting some draft assets.

My thought is Randle for Tobias Harris. Randle is a much bigger producer than Harris and could further elevate Detroit’s scoring and rebounding. Meanwhile, the Wolves would trim $4.3 million from next season’s payroll and I think we could get a couple second round picks from Detroit - maybe Detroit’s own 2027 and 2029 2nds.

Well, if Detroit is willing to swap Tobias Harris for Randle, I would MUCH rather add Toronto into the mix, sending Harris to Toronto and the Wolves receiving Olynyk and Boucher. Boucher has an expiring contract.

The idea for the Wolves is Hardway's expiring money which would go to NAW. Tobias is a worse player than Julius and does not offer any financial benefits of keeping Nickeil.

You are talking about an expiring contract, so basically a trade that assures maximum flexibility this offseason for either signing our own guys (NAW and Naz) and/or using the full MLE.

I'm not sure how many expirings are out there that match up with Randle in a way that we can pull it off while in the 2nd Apron and it being someone we just leave on the bench so that our younger guys can soak up Randle's minutes.

But let's just say it's possible. Then I suspect Naz would start at the 4 next to Rudy and then slide to the 5 as his backup and we would use more Jaden and Minott at the 4. Basically we'd get smaller, but faster. But with Jaden and Minott now sliding over to play more 4, that definitely opens up playing time for Terrence Shannon Jr. at the 3.

Shannon is now out 2-4 weeks with a grade 2 ankle sprain. Dillingham is back in action, but doing a rehab stint with Iowa.
