That's for sure. He's playing with a bunch of really smart players and they run a spread offense that is just beautiful to watch. It's the type of offense I wish Ant could play in. And he's obviously improved defensively as a Center, which I think we started to see a couple years ago in that Memphis playoff series.

Had we not been so eager to sign Old Man Conley (Wolves bid against themselves, as TC is butt dumb, as no team was going to pay so much for a guy Conley's age).WildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 10:29 pmTyus Jones was never an option whether they signed Conley or not. Nobody thought Jones was gonna settle for a vet minimum (keep in mind, even if Tyus came here again, there was zero chance of a long term deal)
Now the Dillingham thing was a risk and he might still pan out but if the coach is so reluctant to use him, then it's not a move to make. The issue isn't trading up for Rob; it's treating him like he's an undrafted free agent. I think to a man if this was say Ajay Mitchell, then it's justifiable. The trade made both of their picks unusable. They drafted a 24 year old who now many never get meaningful minutes in a Wolves uniform in Shannon.
We could have waited on Conley if we wanted. Nobody was going to pay him more. But either way, offering Tyus the starting gig probably would have gotten him here. I never wanted to let Tyus go. He was better than that trash DLO who we burned a nice lottery pick for.WildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 10:43 pmKG4Ever wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 10:38 pmYes, he would have been an option if he was signed to start here. You couldn't possibly have gone into free agency with no Conley and BANKING on Jones who to a man we all thought at least was gonna get MLE money, to settle for a 1 year vet minimum (again, 1 year because there's no bird rights, so God forbid he plays well, now you have no way to keep him and no way to replace him.
Now would this team need Conley as much if they had an actual facilitator? No, but my fear was always that they didn't value it that much and was just gonna rely on Ant turning into mini Luka, which was never gonna happen.
Wish he would get minutes in games that we have no energy like tonight
