What kind of contract would you be willing to give to Kalil? Coming off an injury and he hasn't exactly been a terrific player since his rookie year I can't imagine he can demand too high of a salary but who knows I guess. I'm probably in the 5 million range (probably basically 1 year guaranteed) without researching it too much and I may not even go that high just throwing out a number. Part of it depends on what other options are available both talent and how much $$$$$$$ it costs. Maybe he would be a pretty good RT. Idk he might be worth the gamble at the right price I guess that's all I am saying.
In normal times I'd offer him a two year deal with the 2nd a team option. Of course the Vikings really don't have any leverage with their O-line so they're probably going to be lucky to sign him to a one year deal at a team friendly rate even though he has been terrible. They likely are in no position to bring AD back as they'll need every penny they can find to sign two-four linemen and they can't shop the clearance isle this offseason.
Yeah you make a good point they need somebodies. They have some leverage if he wants to come back to the Vikings. Plus the guy is coming off a hip injury and like you said wasn't fantastic the last couple years. What is that worth on the open market? No idea plus his wife is from the area. There is some financial cost in moving.
If he receives any outside interest that little leverage dries up IMO. He and his agent know that at minimum they need two excellent signings on the line, and likely three. He had that great rookie season and we thought that position was locked up for a decade but hasn't stayed healthy since. Do you really want him back? At this point he almost has to be a last resort signing.
Yeah I mean if he gets a good offer from another team the Vikings probably tell him to take it.

I don't know much about The Jags oline but my guess is it's better than ours. Funny that the undrafted guy could see time before your guy Beavers but that's how it goes sometimes. Sirles was undrafted and at least looks like a valuable depth guy. Reading about Beavers now more in depth than at the time of the draft he was a bit of a polarizing player. Some people really liked him and others thought he flat out sucked. Obviously a bunch of people missed Rashon Hill.

I think he will be more like Willie Roaf. He is already halfway there.

The word is that Clemmings is gonna start at LT Boone at LG and Sirles at RT. Does that sound good? No probably not but what option does? Clemmings was good enough to start those games at LT when the Vikings were winning...so there is that. We will see.

Typical PFF coastal bias. To completely ignore the enormous accomplishments of this unit is an outrage.

I know. And what did Clemmings do to them to receive so much hate from them?

How was Patterson one of the worse WRs last week? I've always found their grades of receivers somewhat baffling.
