I think you captured the alternatives, KG. I think the Wolves end up riding it out with DLO. I'm OK with that.

I think a Dlo/Beasley/Vando/1 1st for gobert and Connelly is a real possibility

I'd probably do that deal-partially for Rudy and partially to move on from DLO. Frees up some roster spots where we could add a veteran point guard too.

Conley is old, but I would certainly do that deal. Gobert, KAT, Jaden (or PatBev), Ant and Conley would be a formidable starting unit, and it would free up Nowell. I know there are rumors of friction between Gobert and Mitchell (even some "him or me" rumors), but is that the main reason Utah considers this deal? It instantly makes the Wolves better, but not the Jazz IMO.

The Jazz would cut 52 million in salary for the 23-24 season. They add a 1st and Vando, Beasley, Dlo are all legit rotation pieces

I'd be unhappy if the Wolves did that deal. That would be giving up too much in my view. But more importantly, it would be taking on too much salary over a 4-year period.

Could be...in the new Lore/ARod world. They may not be as lux tax adverse as the Man from Mankato was.

I have to admit I love this deal, and Kek makes a compelling case for why Utah might. I understand Lip's concerns about taking on Gobert's contract, but we're also taking on his game-changing talent. A front-line of KAT, Rudy, Jaden would be as impressive defensively as any. Any deal involving DLo is likely to have some unattractiveness in it, but that's the cost of moving a max guy who fits poorly. If TC can find a way to move him, bring in a game-changing rim protector and world class rebounder, and give up only one pick, I would be quite impressed.

Lol. Seriously, it'd not the owners' money I'm concerned about; it's the team's financial flexibility and the huge allocation of payroll to a one-way player. $20 million for Capela makes sense. $40 million for Gobert does not.

Completely understand your reservation but when Connelly expires Ant and Mcdaniels will get paid. While gobert number looks huge with the cap going to continue to rise his contract will still be large but it won't be as bad

I've always been in position where I'm cool moving Dlo but they need to get some type of playmaking person back. I think Connelly fits that bill. Also add gobert who is the best defensive center in the nba.

I just think the trade makes sense both ways.
