Yeah the rebounding was brutal. I think JV had the green light to crash the offensive boards once KAT got in foul trouble, but we are severely hurting once teams start game-planning for this.

Yup, good to know we could win a muck-it-up game like this one.

We are almost too amped up for these games. The really good teams will take that over-exuberance and use it against us. Still, I'd rather err on the side of too much energy and effort!

JV kills us every damn time we play against him. He's the opposition poster child for why we needed to go get another legit big this offseason.

I wonder how much DeMarcus Cousins has left in the tank. He didn't look too bad playing for the Clippers at the end of last year. If nothing else, the guy's 6'11, 270-pounds and plays like he's heavier than that. Plus, I just think it would be fun.

I mean, who wouldn't have enjoyed seeing Boogie come in the game tonight to throw his body against Jonas Valanciunas and maybe pick up a technical along the way?

After reflection. I legit love this win. The offense was bad tonight but the won with energy and defense. If the continue to do that on that end of the court the Wolves will win a lot of games.

Also Pelicans are not great but they do still have an All start and a guy Chris Vernon said was arguably the best player on the Grizzlies last year in Valanciunas.

Feels good to be 2-0

You are what you are. 2-0. The rest doesn't much matter. We have strengths and we have weaknesses. Less weaknesses than we used to. (Drew, was that proper usage of than?)

Defense travels, so we should be a much better road team than we have been. Need to get another win Monday.

Wolves have lost many games where we have all felt they played well enough to win. The sign of an improving team is not playing overly well and still winning. Maybe most encouraging is giving up only 80 some points. Whens the last time that happened?

Yes! "Than" is used to compare, while "then" is used to mean "as a result" or to refer to time. So you were right, then, to use "than."

However, while the word "less" is acceptable for non-countable nouns (less water, less grass), we should use the word "fewer" for countable nouns (fewer chairs, fewer pencils). Since the word "weaknesses" in that sentence is a countable noun, the phrase should read: "fewer weaknesses than we used to."

Also, that last sentence is actually a sentence fragment because there's no distinct subject and verb. You could fix that by writing "we have," and add an introductory clause so it's not too redundant with the previous sentence. So you could write: "Thankfully, we have fewer weaknesses than we used to."

It also ends on a preposition (to), which, contrary to what some strict grammarians believe, is acceptable in casual speech if the only grammatically-correct alternative sounds too formal. Thus, "Who do I give this beer to?" is acceptable because "To whom do I give this beer?" will get you rightfully laughed out of the party. In this case, though, there are acceptable alternatives. You could add the implied verb at the end of the sentence and write: "Thankfully, we have fewer weaknesses than we used to have." A better option may be to specify the comparison and write: "Thankfully, we have fewer weaknesses than last year."

:)
Go Wovles!
