But, I do know that he improved significantly statistically as the season went on.

1st 38 games:
9 ppg
37.8% fg

Next 39 games:
17 ppg
6 reb
44% fg

And let's not forget that he played 11 fewer mpg than Wiggins did as a rookie. So their seasons are at least comparable. The rub is whether Jackson's improvement during the season was a fluke... and he stagnates like Wiggins has largely done for four seasons... or continues to show incremental tangible improvement like many other top prospects.

I know it seemed like he got better as the season went on. My other question...Is Josh Jackson actually a guy that actually is good at defense or improved as the season went on or are people making assumptions? I don't know just asking. I know a few people said he was bad early in the year and he was on the worst defensive rated team in the league Again only worse than the Cavs).

I'd take a long look at donte divincenzo at our slot. Can shoot, hyper athlete, plays with extreme energy. Gets after it on both ends. Seeing him protect the rim at 6'5 is awesome.

I'm gonna keep carrying the flag for Hamidou Diallo and Svi Mykhailuk

Diallo = a fixable Wiggins
Svi = diet Korver if he winds up on a smart team

I think I like Diallo where we are at too. I have a feeling he may not last that long though. He's too athletic.

Grayson allen also had one of the best verticals at the combine. There could still be some interesting talent around where we pick. It seems like there are tons of athletic wings out there this year. I hope we land one that can actually play.

Grayson Allen is super athletic. 40 inch vert and a top 5 all time shuttle time. He has a decent handle and could even play PG potentially. I like him where we are picking. His on court tick tac antics is a meh for me. He's competitive. I like that.

Yep plenty of athletism out there. To me the bottom line is there will be wings available at #20 that are easy to get excited about one way or another. If a couple guys stay in that could give lots of options. Apparently a couple guys already have promises in the first and pulled out of the combine.

The combine is fools' gold I tell you! I used to really pay attention to that stuff, but it turns out to be pretty meaningless in the end. I do think some of the measurements, especially wingspan, can be helpful data to know. But the athletic tests are useless for the most part.

I'm with Monster: wings, wings, wings....go find a guy that can do at least two out of these three things really well: Shoot, defend, dribble.

I get what you are saying. It could be more of a elimination test a bit. If guys score really low on certain measurables. I don't think you can be an All Star Wing or PG without having a certain level of athleticism. Guys like Mitchell and Giannis not many could foresee their rise. Giannis was a mid round pick (Wolves passed on him).

I'm right with Q saying a lot of the combine numbers are somewhat meaningless. Every once in a while I see a high number in one of those tests and it makes me want to revisit some video to see if I missed something. Knowing the player's Height and wingspan etc have some value to me. If 2 guys seem about equal and one guy is clearly longer overall that will matter. Sure maybe some measurements knock a guy down some but I've also seen some players show fairly eye popping athletic numbers and they just don't really translate to the court. It's an easy example but you didn't need to see any combine numbers to know Lavine was a very special athlete if you watched some video of him in college.

I'm not as high on Diallo as some here but Mykhailuk as a 2nd round pick I would be ecstatic. I see him as being that stretch combo forward that would look really good on this team and...probably on a lot of teams. I don't think he lasts that long but a guy can hope.
