I go back to the Abe theory. The real team we see is the second half one. Toronto looked listless and uninterested in the first quarter. We're a young, energetic group of guys. But whenever a team gets focused against us, our true colors show.

We have such a long ways to go.

Maybe that's accurate, but it's hard for me to completely agree with that just yet because the players abandon what was working earlier in the game(s) and as someone else said in the thread, they go into panic mode. Once their offensive focus gets disrupted, good luck getting them engaged on defense. We're soft right now.

My point is that it was working because Toronto was not playing full tilt. Recall how LaVine had that early corner 3 and they gave him all day on it? Once the defense tightens, our guys get tight along with it and make one mental error after another. And it quickly bleeds to defense too. Toronto ran up 36 points against us in the 4th!

Losers Until Proven Otherwise. Too bad they can't put that on the home court to remind themselves of that.

Yeah, the very soft early schedule is the only reason Thibs has been able to guide this team to 6 big wins. We're on pace for 22, but the tougher schedule says we're more likely to finish in the teens.

1. Ugh.
2. The defense. I don't know where to start. But it's disjointed. Listless. It's beyond my paygrade to figure it all out. But they were getting beat down court off made baskets.
3. It's been a fun ride. But I'm ready for a PG who can finish those 7 foot floaters instead of passing them up on possessions that end with a 21 - 24 foot contested jumper by LaVine or Wiggins.
4. Speaking of which... when it feels like your team is staying in a game simply by hitting tough shots vs. a team on a run... things won't end well. And we're seeing A LOT of that this season.
5. Aldrich! He's growing on me. For what he gives... 13 - 16 mpg... he makes an impact. He loses guys in a few blow-bys... but he's solid defensively overall.
6. DeMarre Carroll and Patrick Patterson are not stars. But they're the type of veteran players who know what the hell they're doing to help teams win games.
7. Jonas Valenadoifuoiaoscous had 18 points in his previous 4 games combined. He had 20 yesterday.
8. I'm seeing signs from Dunn. They're still mixed in with spectacularly dumb/crappy things... but there are more glimmers of hope lately.
9. I don't know what to say about Thibs. He seems in agony. And that might be contagious at this point.

Good observations Abe.

I know we've been at (somewhat) odds on Rubio over the years, but at the end of the day I look at the data. And the data tells me he's been a load stone this year, unlike seasons' past where he's been the exact opposite.

If Dunn keeps up his solid play and Rubio keeps up his crappy play, I think Thibs will need to promote Dunn and move Rubio to our 2nd unit. His trade value is shot anyway, so we may actually get more out of Rubio running the second unit than we would in any sort of trade.

Aldrich has grown on me as well. He's the one guy that seems to have absolutely lived up to exactly what we expected. Remember, he wasn't signed to be a 20 MPG game-changer off the bench. We just wanted a solid bench big dude that could rebound and hold his own out there.

Reggie Miller...love the player hate the analyst. I swear he does no research at all.

It's easy to find a silver lining in this game. Dunn had another solid game.

I know I'm a Bazz guy but it really does feel like he is actually solid defensively. I wish wiggins put forth the effort getting down in his stance hands up and all that that Bazz seems to do. He is playing more against starters as Thibs is staggering players (I like what he is doing) and it will be interesting to see if he can keep this up. It helps he is playing fewer minutes than a guy like Wiggins to have that energy. Now if only he could get some of his shots to fall on a more consistant basis.

One thing that has bugged me lately is Rubio either gets beat or gets frustrated with his teammates defensively and pretty much gives up on the play. He can't do that obviously nobody should but that's part of his value that he plays hard.

Towns needs to quit whining about getting fouled every time he gets near a player and he shoots.

That's all I got. Overall I enjoyed the game. I thought it was a bit encouraging overall as they didn't suck in the 3rd quarter they came back and the opportunity to really blow it in the quarter was there.
