Hey everyone guess what
Re: Hey everyone guess what
Good day of games for the Wolves everyone they are competing for that last spot lost. The Lakers and the Suns are basically out of the picture now which leaves 6 teams remaining for that last spot with 3 wins separating those teams.

It's refreshing that we are winning enough games (and other teams are losing enough) to keep the playoff hunt relevant, but looking at the schedule I just don't see it happening. We probably need to start winning about one out of two games we shouldn't, not to mention winning every game we have a reasonable chance in. In other words, Sacramento tonight is a must win, then they have to find a way to split against Utah and the Spurs. There just hasn't been any evidence our defense can rise to the challenge against quality teams. Gotta keep the hope I guess tho, until of course we lose too many and it's on to the ping pong balls.
Re: Hey everyone guess what
I'm certainly not playoffs or bust and this thread was started when everyone was so frustrated with the season and how bad it was...but the Wolves were still in the playoff hurt along with a couple other teams that were seemingly underachieving. I wouldn't mind getting a couple draft slots higher by kissing the playoffs but I'll say this. If the Wolves somehow end up on top and get that 8th seed over these other teams it probably means something worth considering about the team's progression this year.
Re: Hey everyone guess what
Yeah, the Wolves not only have to earn a bunch of unexpected wins (which includes the Kings tonight), they have to hope that none of the 5 teams ahead of them for the 8th spot, according to the KOM, get hot. At least nobody got hot yesterday...

It is a long shot, but I still think there is as much to gain from the mentality of fighting for a playoff spot as there is from actually getting it. These guys need to keep playing hard and developing a winning culture. We saw it against Houston the other night where we didn't roll over despite multiple stretches where it felt like Houston was about ready to run away with things. Yes, we still lost, but we didn't give up.
This franchise has been losing too long. Tanking only reinforces a culture built over many years of failure. We need to break out of that mentality.

That is a poor way to look at things. I want to play the teams at full strength. I don't want to be gifted a playoff spot. We earn it or sit. We got to get better and to get better, you got to play the best.

We can play teams at full strength when they play the Warriors in the 1st round

I disagree. Getting in is all that matters. How you get there doesn't. You can't get playoff experience if you don't make the playoffs so making them is all that matters even if it is just a curb stomp by the Warriors in round 1. If you even manage to steal a game off of them that is huge momentum moving forward.
