I double checked and it is 30 days after a rookie signs, so having to that long might not be ideal for a trade, but at this point of the Summer I don't think it would be cause to kill any options on the table.

"For 30 days after signing as a draft pick."

I would say Ainge is doing his best Godfather impression right about now, but the Cavs could probably still best it if Wiggins is on the table. Outside of that, I don't see any more enticing opportunities than Boston.

I was fiddling with the trade machine yesterday and Boston seems to me the best option for ditching Martin's contract (using Piece trade exception) with Love, while receiving Smart/Young/Expiring Bass/Unguaranteed Bogans, and a bevy of draft picks. That option would give us:

- Room to sign Gasol at a decent rate to play with Rubio (~8MM per year?)
- Or sign a bench player, like Jason Smith (shot-blocker, defender, good mid-range)
- Provide 20MM in cap room next season as Barea/Moute/Bass/Shved/Turiaf expire
- Allow us to swallow a Rubio max (hopefully less)
- Leave us with room to sign a max or near-max free agent next year
- Additional expiring salaries of ~10MM in as Brewer/Budinger expire after 2015-16
- Tons of young talent on rookie scale contracts

I honestly don't think this team would suck that bad... Lots of athleticism with defense. Shooting is still a question mark and we'd have to clear one roster spot.

PG: Rubio, Smart, Barea
SG: LaVine, Brewer, Shved,
SF: Young, Budinger, Robinson, Muhammed
PF: Gasol, Bass, Moute
C: Pekovic, Dieng, Turiaf

Feel free to poke holes wherever. I actually did crunch numbers and financially it all works, but is this end result palatable to the Wolves long-term? I think it is. Plus we can always try and find suitors for any of our expirings this year.

.@TheRealTRizzo with a huge rumor: #Cavs have made an offer to the Timberwolves for Kevin Love. Deal includes Andrew Wiggins.

Source says Cavs also "pursuing a big." Won't give names, but hearing from other sources outside organization that "big" is Kevin Love.

Also told Heat have been active in past 48 hours, trying to make something of substance happen. Meanwhile, ESPN says Cavs pursuing Ray Allen

- So if the Cavs get LeBron to sign for max, Allen to take about what he got last year. Trade Wiggins/filler for Love... that team would be pretty good. Though I question it's ability to play any defense whatsoever outside of LeBron and Varejao.

I don't think trade exceptions can be combined with players. I believe they're only used to absorb a players contract. Could maybe be two separate deals.

I'll believe it when I see it. All things considered, if Flip gets Wiggins, Ill take back everything I said about him
