I like Sam Mitchell and I appreciate how supportive he is of his players. I always tried to pump the brakes on this board when people said he needed to go (coincidentally, many of the same people were excited about Thibs).

But Sam's just wrong about Wiggins. I think he focuses on Wiggins too much as a person and not enough as a player. As a person, I'm sure he's a nice guy. As a player, he's an inefficient scorer whose athleticism for too long masked his slow decision-making, weak skillset (especially handling and passing), and lack of a motor, and now everybody knows about all those things. We never should have offered that contract, and now we would need to give up serious assets to dump the contract. I honestly think a future unprotected first wouldn't even be enough to dump that contract.

I said it when we were considering offering that max deal and it's looking more and more true each day, signing that contract might be arguably the biggest mistake in team history. At this point, it's pretty clear it's going to cost us KAT. We can't improve with Wiggins on the books, we'd have to dump too many assets to get off of Wiggins, we're basically destined for mediocrity at best right now. That's going to push KAT to ask for a trade at some point. The good news is that at least the assets we can someday get for KAT should help provide the foundation for a future down the road. We are watching the Wiggins contract snuff out what should have been the KAT era for this team.

we need to send that to all the other teams - Wiggins is fixable, trade for him and you will see.

There is no sense arguing with khans. He will always try to argue to death with you on whatever comment he made no matter how stupid it is. Basically he is blaming towns for dlo not coming and he said that would make him consider trading towns.

So a player should be blamed for failing to recruit and that would also be grounds for trading away a player. Khans will try to defend that comment to death with you and no sense to further argue with him on a stupid comment he made.

Or you could just learn to fucking read when I said he should be part of the blame equation with Rosas. Jesus.

"I'm saying he needs to take some blame for this. He was our number 1 recruiter for this deal to happen and it fell through so why does he come out of this with 0 blame."

I've learned that Wolves fans (and this forum) don't always respond the best to disappointment.

This thread is sort of a clownshow.

What are you even talking about? When have I said trade Towns? Again. READ and understand who is saying what.

"I'm saying he needs to take some blame for this. He was our number 1 recruiter for this deal to happen and it fell through so why does he come out of this with 0 blame. His best friend just picked a different team after KAT spent all day Sunday trying to get him to come here. We lost a recruiting battle which falls on both Rosas and the player who spent all offseason trying to recruit him to come here. I don't get why that's stupid. If you recruited your buddy to work with you and the interviews all went well and your boss wants to hire them and then he ditches you at the last minute for greener pastures do you think you have no responsibility in that outcome? To me that says you didn't do enough to get the job done."

There's the full quote. Where does it say trade Towns?

Nice find Tim. I always thought Sam had a good feel for the kids.

He couldn't successfully recruit his best friend to play basketball with him. Maybe getting rid of KAT isn't gonna be the worst thing we could do down the line.
