I wish we could have 5 of those missed free throws back or 5 of those turnovers or 5 of those offensive rebounds. Imagine if they had all of them back.
Pretty much sums up the season. Bad free throw shooting, turnovers and rebounding!

The two positives for this game = Randle and Ayo. Everyone else has been bad.
I'll add Donte to the positive category...16 points on only 9 shots, 9 rebounds, and good hustle on defense.
This team is so hard to predict. Rudy has been terrific against the Thunder all season, and crapped the bed today. Ju has been terrible against them for two seasons, and was awesome today.

24 turnovers. Is it really that hard to take care of the basketball?

This assist to turnover ratio has been terrible for most of the season. A lot of it rests with Ant. He's turned into an incredibly selfish player.
This team is chock full of loose handles and poor passers. Not an ideal mix, especially against a team like the Thunder who put their hands in everything.

When you don't have a primary ball handler, yes.

I was chuckling at all the pundits who were saying earlier this month that the Spurs were the team to beat, not the Thunder. They are pretty good, but I think they are far short of the Thunder.

I wouldn't go that far, I think we're trying to make Ant a point guard in the SGA/Luka mold, and playmaking is the hardest thing to improve on once you get to the NBA. A bit selfish maybe, incredibly no.

Abe's "Will the Wolves be playing for a spot in the play-in tourney on Tuesday" DVR Review:
- Do your job ABC/ESPN. Yes. We know SGA has scored 20+ points a lot in a row. BUT IT'S NOT A REAL RECORD! I hate contrived "records" like that. HATE it. You think Jordan or Barkley or Wilt or West or Barry would have made a concerted effort to score 20 if they knew it was a "record?"
- Much more importantly... DO YOUR JOB ESPN. You told us the last "regular season" game. Anyone know the last game it happened? Or against what team? It would have been nice if once... in the 64 times they mentioned the "record"... that they would have mentioned the Wolves held him to 14 last May in the playoffs. Just ONCE. Hell, it's good for the narrative they're pushing. But that would require them to do their homework. I'm not getting paid for it. They are.
- 4 fouls for the Wolves. 4 TOs. 3 rebounds (vs. 9 for OKC)... and only 5 points.
- Without two hustle rebounds from Divincenzo... the rebounding would be even worse.
- Edwards isn't even close early with his shots early in this one. Bad TOs, too.
- Amazing the Wolves were down only 1 after the 1st quarter. Ayo saved them. He's good with that runner. Very good.
- McDaniels picks up his 3rd foul 13 minutes into the game... 45 feet from the hoop. Eventually, he won't (should not be) deemed untouchable.
- Turns out the Wolves should fall down more. It's a surefire way to get a foul call.
- Doris Burke took a lot of heat after the Finals for her SGA criticism. She was demoted. Obviously, she got the memo. She highlighted 3 or 4 "OKC should have got the call there" in the 1st half. Did not do that once for the Wolves. (See Edwards' foul on SGA vs. SGA's "clean" foul on Gobert.)
- Sorry... I got bored in the 2nd half. This team doesn't deserve me to put in more work than they do.
- TERRIBLE games for McDaniels, Gobert, Edwards and Reid... and yet they were competitive for 33 minutes. I have no idea how they kept it close for that long.
These teams are very different. One of them is on the rise... the other... not so much.

But those are the two teams to beat either way. Folks will slap the inexperience label on Wemby when the playoffs roll around, but that dude seems pretty unflappable and mature beyond his years.
What OKC has done in terms of depth and talent has to be up there with the best of R.C. Buford/Pop years as GM/Coach for the Spurs.
Take Ajay Mitchell....He is legit just as good or better as a two-way guard than either DDV or Ayo, yet he is just one fairly minor cog in the machine in OKC and makes $3M per year. He was the 38th pick in the 2024 draft. That's a standard of excellence in GM-ing and player development that seems beyond our reach (and most other NBA teams for that matter).
