Does anyone know why Willians Astudillo is on the big league roster? The guy sucks.

Might have something to do with him batting .500 going into today and batted well in spring trading. He is a catcher that can play other positions.

What was the problem today?

I like Willians, monster, despite his unorthodox style, and as you say he does provide some positional depth. But today he popped up as the first batter up in the 10th, failing to move the runner at 2nd up with no outs. I hate the new extra innings rule, but shame on the Twins for failing to execute three games now in the 10th. We're 5-0 in 9 inning games, 0-3 in extra innings.

I prefer to think of it as 4-0 when they don't give up an unearned run and 1-3 when they do. As far as WA, this is Robbie Hummel all over again. For a guy making that little and playing that little, I like him, but I would like to see him moved when they are out of Arb options. Don't need a repeat of Matt Tolbert.

I know I'm Sano defender but man I never seen him this lost at plate. Every swing he takes is different mechanically.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I know we're looking for any bit of optimism for Sano we can find, and this is really a stretch. But Bremer mentioned in his last at bat that he at least is getting deeper in the count and has no K's today. Baby steps, right? He's up first in the 8th, so maybe he can get a mistake and tie this game up.

2 walks today is encouraging end he has 4 straight games with a walk taken so if you are looking for positives...

It's too bad the Twins didn't score more runs earlier in the game when they had the bases loaded twice. It was kinda fun watching the extended highlights and seeing the snow. It wasn't that cold here today but I was a little chilled when I rode into work.

Yeah, and Maeda really struggling in the second inning. Oh how quickly the fortunes of this baseball team have turned after such a promising start.
