Out of curiosity, and wanting to further the conversation, what are these supposed available options? Or rather who do we think might become available that isn't currently? Do you have your eyes on any player(s) in particular?

There has been zero need for 30 million dollar expiring salary to facilitate a trade, I think that will drastically change as more teams will have money to throw around, players like Lillard, Beal, Chris Paul, KD, either of Kawahi, PG will likely become much more moveable (not that I think we would get one of names), but our 30 million could easily get us incrementally better (recouping a draft pick, a younger asset at the point) next year attached to a movable asset. What if Orlando decided to go all in on a big name like Beal next year for instance? I see us as a facilitator and acquiring assets on the margins with that money. Our only path to big time asset improvement is trading Kat imo.

I love FVV and have since college. He is or was a true 2-way player. Like FNG pointed out he has been back to playing well after a slow start. We saw Kyrie get traded for lots of value. FVV isn't the offensive player Kyrie but unless he has really fallen off he is still a good defender which like Insaid makes him a valuable 2-way player. Those guys are hard to find at PG that can defend and score and make plays. I'm sure the Wolves are interested in FVV. I would be too. I'd also be surprised if the Wolves acquired him.

How much are you willing to pay him at 29-years old?

Idk that's part of the problem in acquiring him...plus he could simply walk in FA. I'm just saying I really like FVV I'm not actually advocating trading for him just saying he is a good player that I like so of course I or the Wolves would/should be interested. Between the cost (assets) of acquiring him and salary he might expect and get...I likely wouldn't want to acquire him.

We have seen "chatter" on a couple of occasions about the Wolves' interest in Bones and the Nuggets' interest in Prince. Interestingly, the Nuggets have a trade exception that allows for an even swap. With Nuggets apparently ready to move on from Bones, I think we may very well see that trade go down.

I don't have a strong opinion. It would make us less dependent on Nowell. And it would create some luxury cap space to take back more in some other trade...

I'm not liking that trade....at all.

I don't either. Prince gives us much needed sandpaper that we lost with Vando and PBev. I think it makes us worse.

That would leave a pretty big hole at the forward position. The Wolves would need to add someone there or at the very least end up signing Matt Ryan to an NBA contract so he could play in the playoffs. Like you point out this theoretical trade would give the Wolves salary flexibility and they could even more simply cut Forbes if they don't trade him and sign someone including Matt Ryan. If they did this deal someone must really like Bones because even though Prince misses games he is a pretty valuable player for this team.

What if they do move Prince for Bones and then go obtain R. O'Neal for Nowell & a 2nd? You replace some of what you lose in Prince with Royce and then give Bones an opportunity to thrive.

I think Bones becomes the shooter you would need to replace by trading DLO for other pieces. Hopefully Terrance Mann.
