McDaniels was wide open for 3. It was a good shot he missed it. IMO Edwards made the correct play and may even had been what was talked about in the huddle before the last possession.

Yep. With only 3+ seconds to set up the shot... I thought a wide open corner three was a great look.

Much better than many other last-second shots I've seen.

Heck, Utah just lost vs. the 76ers by one... and their last shot was atrocious with Clarkson heaving it up over two guys from 27 feet. And the Jazz had 5 seconds to set it up.

4:45 mark. I think every team would take that corner three if the right guy(s) have that look.

My God, think of all the botched late game situations the Wolves have had over the years.....Jaden just missed it, plain and simple. That's a shot he makes 40% of the time, so it wasn't quite a coin flip but pretty damn close.

Good on Ant for making the simple pass to Jaden for the wide open look. That's a little deposit in the Trust Department, which is important in the long term. These two need to be locked in with each other.

Would have been great for Jaden's confidence if it had dropped. He will get more chances.

I wonder if on the Jazz Board. They say hey the Jazz only won but Kat and Rudy were out or do we only do that on here. Like if McDaniels made the 3. Well we only won because Markannen was out.

Btw the whiskey taste good tonight.

Nice take, Q. I agree. It was the right pass and a good shot. But it shouldn't have come down to that shot. This was a game the Wolves absolutely should have won and they let is slip away.

Meh, so the Jazz started off the 4th quarter scoring on 12 straight possessions. BIG DEAL!!!!

This has always been a personal favorite wolves end of game botch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRz0hfakFAw

Brad Miller's (I think?) expression at ~24-26 seconds is priceless.

That reminds me of the play linked below. It also shows an area of growth for Anthony Edwards from then to now. He's still not quite the clutch player we need him to be, but he's getting there.

I think the smart fans on the Jazz board probably analyze the impact missing players have on games, just like we do here. Walker Kessler averages 7.5/7.2 this season (9.8/10.2 his last 10 games), and he went 20/21 yesterday not having to go up against Gobert. Matchups matter in the NBA. and smart Jazz fans are probably happy Walker got to line up against Naz with his back spasms, Garza and Knight, rather than a guy who is a perennial challenger for DPOY. I still think we should have won this game, but even though Walker is having an impressive rookie season, I don't think anyone thinks he goes off for 20/21 if Rudy plays 30 minutes.

But here's the rub. Gobert had a similar situation vs. the Miami Heat when that team didn't have any regular bigs.

Gobert went for 10/8 and was outplayed by something called Orlando Robinson.

Meanwhile, Naz Reid has started dozens of NBA games over 4 seasons and was deemed a quality soon-to-be-free agent big as recently as a week ago.
