Does anyone here truly believe Julius Randle and Nerlens Noel would be performing even close to those numbers if they played for the Wolves? Their success is directly impacted by coaching, we have an in over his head nepotism coach in Ryan saunders while the Knicks have a decorated coach in Tom Thibodeau.

Wolves didn't need him.

If you're gonna point out Wiseman and Randle after every good game... I'm gonna keep trumping Haliburton... and how the Wolves could have traded down to get him and at least one other guy. We'll make every thread into our own personal "I'm the smartest guy in the room" fest.

5 - 7 fg... 3 - 4 3fg

56% fg / 53% 3fg / 21 assists vs. 3 TOs on the season)

Sacramento is 3 - 1.

Abe - I'm glad you pointed out Halliburton's success to date. I wanted to trade down and he was on my list, although not as high as my guy Okongwu. I can say with certainty that Okongwu would be averaging around 10 rebounds and 20 points per game as the leading candidate for rookie of the year if he weren't injured. :)

Seriously, I like it when Cam or anyone else points out the success of players they like and thought the Wolves should have signed or drafted. I don't care how often they do it; in fact I appreciate getting the info. I don't see it as a "smartest guy in the room fest." I see it as interesting information and a reminder that the dumbest guy in the room is, once again, heading up the Wolves front office. :).

So please keep those posts on Haliburton coming.

Meh.

It just reminded me of the guy who ripped Thibs in every single post. Was it LST?

[Note: To be fair, I know others can be redundant from time to time, too. Ahem. ]

LST did not enjoy Tom Thibodeau's time in Minnesota whatsoever and routinely referred to him as an ogre, which is funny looking back on it. He had a bad stretch where every post was Thibs-centric, but they were at least thought out and he went back and forth courteously.

He wasn't much of a Kevin Love fan either. I don't know if anyone was happier to see him leave the Twin Cities.

But with all of that said I would gladly welcome LST back to this board with open arms. He was one of the founding fathers here, if you will, and there's not many of us left!

PS: If you want redundancy, I might know a guy. He's my biggest fan.

Does anyone know what happened to LST? I have been asking for a month now. I hope he is okay.

I think he found a New York Knicks forum.

I know he was getting fed up with the board. We did have a conversation once about him actually working behind the scenes and not posting anymore. I know some teams are very strict on this. The two years I worked for the Rangers in scouting I couldn't post anything on social media or risk being fired. It was a zero tolerance policy. Eventually I left scouting because being on the road 280 days out of the year wasn't for me and now I'm back in Minnesota and Coach High School baseball and own a Union Print Shop.

Yep he was getting sick of toxic behavior on this board (what there is some) that could be it. He did mention about doing something within the organization and like jester said its 0 tolerance. He hasn't really posted since Rosas took over. He was also an older gentleman so hopefully he is healthy

I ran into LST at the 2019 Summer League in Vegas. He stopped posting because of the increasing nastiness on this board.

I also criticized Thibodeau a lot. Note that LST and were both season ticket holder at the time and attended a lot of game. Trust me when I say that Thibodeau was a lot worse when you saw him live, constantly barking at players and trying to direct every move on the court while never showing any connection to the player - not a single pat on the back in all the games I saw. We won when Jimmy Butler was here, but we were terrible for Thibodeau's entire tenure before and after Butler. So Thibs didn't have the sort of success as a coach to eclipse the relentless ugliness of his conduct on the sidelines. Moreover, because LST and I had good contacts in the organization, we also knew what a jerk he was to everyone - and I mean everyone - else in the organization. Having said all that, is Thibodeau a better head coach than Ryan Saunders? Absolutely yes!!!

Interestingly, a friend of mine has a sister who lived in Thibs' condo and talked to him a couple times. She thought he was a good guy. But in his professional role he was difficult to deal with and has tended to wear out his welcome wherever he's gone.

As I said when he was here, Thibs wasn't a bad head coach. And we've had worse executives running our front office. I just thought he was a bad fit for this team at the time (lots of young guys) and I question his ability to succeed in today's NBA. Worst of all, he never should have been given both roles - head coach and PBO. He hadn't even worked in a front office before Glen handed him our top front office position. If Glen was determined to hire Thibodeau he should have hired him solely as head coach. Given how badly Thibs wanted to coach and how much he liked our roster at the time, I have no doubt he would have accepted the job without the dual role.

Of course that's all history. What we're dealing with now is just as frustrating, but in a different way.

Vanderbilt balled out vs. the scrubs in the 4th quarter in back-to-back games. I thought his defense was comically bad... and he was exploited over and over again.

BUT... the guy works. He'll probably be one of those Anthony Randolph types early in his career where every other boxscore looks awesome and everybody wonders why he doesn't play more... until you look closer.

BUT... why not? If he keeps working... give him his shot and see what he's got.

Vando! I'm not surprised by his garbage-time numbers or effort level, but yes, his b-ball IQ is still a work in progress. He's almost the anti-Juancho. Juancho seems like a reasonably smart player with a decent shot, but just gets overmatched and outworked quite easily. Vanderbilt is a classic hustle and "do shit" player, but sometimes gets lost or careless.

Hoping McDaniels shows something in the bubble and gives us another option at the 4 further down the line....

Bobby Portis had 12 rebounds and 2 blocks in a win over the Bulls tonight. But our resident genius, Gersson Rosas, decided it made more sense to pay more for Juancho as our signature free-agent signing.

I'm ok with passing on Portis in theory. He's regarded as one of the league's most puzzling, inconsistent players.

That being said... yes... he'd easily be the best PF on the Wolves.
