Describe him how you would like, but I'll take a young big that averaged 13 rebounds, 2+ blocks, 1+ steals, and 2 assists per 36 minutes of play last season as a rookie. He's only going to get better defensively and his feel for the game will improve as well. I'm not sure he'll ever be a great offensive player, but he certainly isn't a bad one either.

I think people see him as an all nba defender. I don't see it. I see him as a plus defender. We have not had one of those in the paint since KG left.

Thanks for sharing. So the roster should look like this:

PG: Rubio/Willaims/LaVine
SG: Martin/Brewer/Budinger
SF: Wiggins/Shabazz/GR3
PF: Young/Bennett/?
C: Pekovic/Dieng/Turiaf

PG: Rubio / Williams
SG: Martin / Brewer / LaVine
SF: Wiggins / Budinger / Muhammad / Robinson
PF: Young / Bennett / Hummel
C: Pekovic / Dieng / Turiaf

Wiggins, Williams, LaVine, Brewer, Budinger, Young and Dieng are capable of playing another position, but this is how I would personally order the depth chart. This is also assuming Flip decides to keep Bennett over the 2015 Miami 1st rounder.

Those projected rosters posted by bleed speed and Camden are just further evidence of why Flip needs to focus extra attention on getting a D-League team. While collecting all of this young talent is great, it means nothing if some of these guys (like LaVine, Bazz, and RGIII) can't get much run in meaningful minutes. Hopefully we can give those guys some substantial D-League time to truly develop their games this year.

I could see Robinson getting some time in the DL, mainly to force him to be more aggressive on offense. Let him showcase his abilites on that end. I don't see Muhammad or LaVine needing to be sent down, so to speak. LaVine will get his opportunities to develop next to Rubio and maybe some burn next to Williams too. Perhaps Muhammad could compete with Budinger for backup wing minutes.

Also, injuries are going to happen. Budinger is no sure bet to stay healthy or even begin the year healthy, honestly. Martin has had injuries in the past as well.

I think Flip recognizes the value of a D-League team but wants to do it the right way. He wants the team to be pretty close location-wise to Minny which is why he didn't go after the Iowa energy and the Heat scooped up the Skyforce before Flip was around which sucks. Anyway I think they will make something happen soon its going that direction and Flip is very familiar with how those franchises work since he used to coach in them. Its been 20 years and things have changed but I bet the finacial viability concerns are still pretty similar. Flip and Glenn will get it done but nobody is more impatient about it than me. I want a real minor league system so bad is sort of weird. Lol

If we needed to go big to match an opposing lineup, then I don't see why not. That's mainly because of his versatility on defense. I wouldn't think of him as a starting SF, though. He's definitely a PF these days.
