Defense travels, so we should be a much better road team than we have been. Need to get another win Monday.
Yes! "Than" is used to compare, while "then" is used to mean "as a result" or to refer to time. So you were right, then, to use "than."
However, while the word "less" is acceptable for non-countable nouns (less water, less grass), we should use the word "fewer" for countable nouns (fewer chairs, fewer pencils). Since the word "weaknesses" in that sentence is a countable noun, the phrase should read: "fewer weaknesses than we used to."
Also, that last sentence is actually a sentence fragment because there's no distinct subject and verb. You could fix that by writing "we have," and add an introductory clause so it's not too redundant with the previous sentence. So you could write: "Thankfully, we have fewer weaknesses than we used to."
It also ends on a preposition (to), which, contrary to what some strict grammarians believe,
is acceptable in casual speech if the only grammatically-correct alternative sounds too formal. Thus, "Who do I give this beer to?" is acceptable because "To whom do I give this beer?" will get you rightfully laughed out of the party. In this case, though, there are acceptable alternatives. You could add the implied verb at the end of the sentence and write: "Thankfully, we have fewer weaknesses than we used to have." A better option may be to specify the comparison and write: "Thankfully, we have fewer weaknesses than last year."
:)

Wovles!
Really, Drew? :)
And I don't know if your beer question was grammatical or rhetorical, but the answer is "To me!".

Well, luckily for Minnesota he remembered in the fourth quarter. He returned to the game with 5:29 left in the game and promptly scored eight points while shooting 3-4 FG, 2-2 3P in the quarter. Again, the guy played poorly for three quarters. Give him credit for coming up big in the clutch while Karl-Anthony Towns could only watch from the bench. Good teams find a way to win. Proud of this group despite the ugly showing.
Yeah, it was a good win, and it was still in doubt until DLo banked in his three. The defense was extraordinary the entire game, and that includes usual defensive whipping boys DLo and Beasley. Robson thought Beas being limited to 5 minutes in the first half was due to a defensive transgression, but I have to admit I didn't see it. I did see hustle all night though.

The good, the defensive energy.
The bad, getting out muscled for rebounds. DLO's shooting. Got to get better.

Your problem is youre watching the game. Its much easier to understand plus minus and its impact on intangibles when you dont watch the game.
Lol

Finished the game a few minutes ago.
The wolves will win easily they said...
Russell did make some shots late but he was terrible on offense most of the game. I'm glad some people said he did some good work on D because I agree. I'm not gonna give him too much credit for his scoring in the 4th quarter when that 3 was sort of a prayer bank in 3. Russell playing poorly was a if reason the team was where it was. It wasn't all his fault and the fact that he wasn't worthless on D on an off night is a positive sign.
Towns lost it in the 2nd half but I LOVED what he was doing with Jonas for about 2.5 quarters. In the first half he was absolutely taking it at Jonas and winning the battle. Towns can't lose it like that BUT he didn't back down as I think he would have been taken out of the game one way or another even sooner in previous years. I'll take what he gave us in this game.
I remember when people said McLaughlin wasn't going to be on this roster or shouldn't be or they should sign someone else. He probably saved this game with his play. I believe we got a very solid backup level PG that can play with any type of player signed for dirt cheap for 3 years. That's a bigtime value. Yes we also could use another legit big but I'm really glad we have JMac.
Edwards was really good in this game.
Vanderbilt guarding Ingram is pretty impressive. Vanderbilt played well tonight.
Overall the wolves won ugly and because of defense. The worst rebounding was probably off missed FTs. I'll give a. Team the benefit of the doubt for a bad bounce on a ad miss or whatever but you gotta get those. Still the Wolves played their asses off and got a win. This game will keep them humble and ready to go for the next one.

I'll also add that early in any sports season you take wins however you can get them. Avoiding some hapless losses is a good thing. This could have been one of those but the wolves looked like the better team the whole game. Maybe not a lot better but better.

He does. I remember seeing and posting that stat here before?
1. The silly way the game is officiated today where guys get beat up in the post and then the defender flops when the big simply turns around.
2. Towns makes a lot of silly offensive fouls. His offensive foul on that pick was comically obvious.
3. He gets too amped up or rattled, leading to a succession of them.
4. He doesn't get as many superstar calls.

I almost forgot but we saw something rare and special last night from Russell. A dunk! Lol
