My biggest concern is KAT's weight, he is hampered on offense by being so light which isn't even my main worry. If we are already struggling to defend the perimeter, how that isn't going to look when he is at his normal 30 plus pound playing weight?

By far my biggest concern also. But Kat is traditionally such a slow starter to the season

Losing Kyle Anderson tonight also hurt a lot. The perimeter defense is very bad so far

This game highlighted some of the weaknesses of our starting 5:

Edwards - Can score at will, but sloppy with the ball and we need him to become a better playmaker. Kills ball movement. Look disengaged sometimes.

McDaniels - has certainly improved, but outside shooting and playmaking still looks below par

Towns - is his own worst enemy. Mentally and physically weak. Should probably been given the first week off to get himself back in to shape after illness. Still getting into foul trouble. Shot selection was poor.

Gobert - Lacks a low post game offensively to really spread the floor. Free throw shooting can cost us a game as it potentially did tonight

You wont win many games having 20 assists and 20 turnovers!

I agree with all your points, Matt. I'll say that Edwards isn't the only one who kills ball movement on this team. I'm afraid Towns will never grow up, which means he'll continue to be his own worst enemy. Of course, the problem is his immaturity and antics hurt the team.

You may be onto something there D-Loser. Nowell has proven himself to be a pretty good pick and roll ball handler. He's certainly better than Ant in those actions.

Question for Capologists: One of the justifications for keeping DLO is that it helps maintain a big salary slot that otherwise would disappear if he were to leave via free agency. But don't we have to re-sign Nowell too? Could DLO's departure clear out some added room to give Nowell his next deal without taking us over the luxury tax?

The whole DLO situation is just as much about DLO's fit and effectiveness as it is about cap management and where we allocate our dollars. I think this is why we will continue to see stints of a Nowell-Ant backcourt combination as the season continues. We need to find out if these two can be effective in running an offense together without either being pure point guards.

How can DLO even be a part of the thread regarding this loss?

Defensively the players on this team, and we all saw it, were making horrendous decisions last night. Rotations were late enough, and bad enough that their were seversl possessions in the 2nd half where we would have 2 defenders unable to cover the rim or the 3.
