Re: ***Official 2016-2017 Wins Prediction Thread***
3 home games this week... but the Wolves are playing 4 winning teams...
San Antonio. (7 straight losses to SA... 6 - 33 in the past decade)
@ Toronto. (0 - 12 over the past 12 years in TOR)
Detroit. (back-end of a road/home back-to-back... although the Wolves are 3 - 1 on the backend this season and once won 10 straight vs. the Pistons)
Golden State. (2 - 15 over the past 5 seasons)
[Note: Yes. I know. What happened last week shouldn't dictate what happens next week... but the statistics are pretty revealing...]

I'm picking Bleed to win this contest. Anybody want to predict anyone else?

Anything more than 1 win out that 4 game stretch would be a nice success IMO.

Well, it should come as no surprise that no one predicted our win total accurately this year. Congrats to Bleed for being the closest. Tim took his usual spot of being, er, the least closest.

I'm embarrassed by my 47 win projection. Shame on me.

Don't feel bad Lip, a lot of us were duped.

Cool -- I noticed you were at 49. Maybe we were just thinking ahead to next season. :)

Does anyone remember what Vegas had for the Wolves wins? I am pretty sure they were pretty far off too...I know that doesn't make anyone feel better.
I think I'm one of the few people that's not completely shocked at a win total in the 30's. 31 is a little lower than what ai would have predicted but this team did lose Lavine for over 30 games and...well Rush played fine for a few games and then was a part of a terrible stretch as well. I just looked at a lot of the WC teams that weren't basically locks for the playoffs and thought all of them had a mix of talent to have a legit shot to get over 30 wins. That means the Wolves might not get to 40 wins. The 3 worst teams in the west were the same team the Lakers Sun and Wolves. Last year they combined for 69 wins. This year they combined for 81 wins.
In the east the Sixers were a legit team for the first time in a few years and went from 10 wins to 28 which all things considered is sort of a nice jump. The bottom of the league wasn't as bad for a big stretch of the season as the previous year. Q was the most vocal saying the Wolves were a long shot to get to the playoffs because of all the teams they had to beat out to get there. Portland and Denver were the teams that put together a run (ironically they made a trade between the two teams) and left the other teams behind. The Wolves COULD have been one of those teams and it looked like for a stretch they might be there but they fell off the trail. It's not going to get either next year either.
