Congrats to you Tim, as I believe you predicted this outcome long ago while others were sort of wondering why. Nice work!

Well, might as well dust this old thing off.
Red = Predicted win, actual loss
Green = Predicted loss, actual win
Yellow = Toss-up, actual win
Orange = Toss-up, actual loss

We are about 3 games ahead of the pace based on my original prediction. The schedule really is brutal during this stretch.

One notable milestone after last night's win is that we officially improved our record over last season. Yay I guess.

Blazers announce Jusuf Nurkic has a non-displaced fibular fracture in his right leg. Sidelined two weeks, then be re-evaluated.

Sucks for him and the Blazers. I can't believe they got Nurkic and a #1 pick for Plumlee. How do the Blazers always seem to find a way.

You know, don't look now, but the Nurkic injury could make things interesting for the Wolves, too! Of course, the Wolves need to take care of their own business first, but if they do, we might find the last few games of the season VERY interesting...

It was brought up on Twitter that not only did the Blazers get the Memphis 1st rounder in that deal and Nurkic they saved money in the deal. They won't have to pay Lux tax because of that AND Nurkic's salary next year is just under 3 million instead of Plumblee who was gonna get a healthy chunk of money. They killed that trade.

The thing is, anyone that watched Nurkic as a rookie saw how gifted he was. Denver got absolutely fleeced in that deal. Yes, they had a redundant (and better) player at the same position in Jokic, but still, why oh why make the trade with a Western Conference team!? Why could they not find a trade partner in the East?

I can see why they would have wanted to add Plumblee as he is versatile and compliments guys on the roster but I don't see why they had to add a first round pick to the deal especially when they seem to be able to unearth bigs every single year.

The fact they were looking to swap bigs cut off a lot of their market. How many teams have a Plumlee type big and are looking for a different big? Ibaka went for a wing. Philly had no use for another C for Noel. Taj went for a PG.

My congrats as well to you Tim! It looks like you nailed it. Portland is collecting wins even with Nurkic sidelined. I couldn't believe that Portland would pass Denver even tough they had easiest schedule for rest of the year since they had been playing clearly worse during January and February among candidates for west last playoff spot. But it seems that they were able to peak right time.
