Cousins is not the problem. The OL sucks and he does try to hold on to the ball about two tenths of a second to long, I don't look at that as a problem of not knowing where to throw but waiting for the timing.
Compton and Elfein really sucked last night. I would like to see Jones start at center and Elfein at guard. Elfein only played 1 year at center in college.

A few of those throws made last night by Goff AND Cousins were just sick. Those two put on a QB clinic in the first half.

It doesn't look great right now, but I'll at least take the effort they showed tonight over the disaster on Sunday. LA is a really good team and we had a chance to tie it up. Lot of red flags though.
Teams making that west coast trip are now like 1-8 on Thursday night games.
Cousins was fantastic pretty much the whole night and we had a chance to go down and tie the game. I agree there is something to be said for this team showing it has some fight.
I think the whole defense seems in some sort of flux. Guys aren't where they are supposed to be at every level. It's completely bizarre. The good news was they did seem to show up the 2nd half holding the Rams to 10 points. There is no way that Zimmer and the talent on this defense suck like this the whole year right? Weird.
I
need to watch something uplifting though now. That was a fun game but so frustrating to watch. I still like defense.
May I suggest the Kavanaugh hearings :)?
I agree there is no shame in losing to the Rams on Thursday night, but I feel quite disappointed in the team right now. After the 49er game, I was ready to predict a Super Bowl appearance, and my opinion hadn't changed much after the Packer tie. But the last two games have revealed some serious issues with this defense. There is talk out there that the Eagles provided a blueprint for defeating a Zimmer defense, and everyone is following it...I'm afraid that might be right. I expect we will be 1-3-1 after the Eagles game.

Kavanaugh hearings...I'll just say that my wife was not feeling uplifted by those today. No matter what your perspective is on this it's...depressive.
Back to football which matters less...let's remember years where teams looked some after 3 weeks. What year was that where Brady was supposedly done and the Pats were in trouble...then they went to the super bowl? Pats look in your legs again but the point is it's still early and yes bigtime problems with the D exist and the Oline isn't perfect BUT I'm not panicked although with Griffen's situation that has to have effected the team some also and it does me. The aspirations and good feeling about the team just isn't there. It's too bad because for the most part Cousins has been fantastic. The rushing game has been poor with 252 total yards and Cousins has 62 of those!

It is a long season and we will know more in December. Though beating the Eagles would be huge at this point it wouldn't be the end of the world. We have extra days to prepare which is huge.
Speaking of the Thursday Night records. They mentioned that the Rams played at home on Sunday. They felt to be fair on Thursday Night the home team should play an away game. I agree with that 1000%.

Cousins is not the problem, but I can see the train wreck coming with his inability to protect the football in the pocket. He was bailed out in GB with a terrible roughing the passer call that negated the pick he threw that would have ended the game and he fumbles on the closing drive last night because he has no pocket presence. That's 2 for 2 when it comes to turning the ball over on finals drives and he just happened to get a bailout on one. And that's not even counting being a major reason Buffalo was spotted a huge first half lead because he was coughing it up on our side of the field. It should be worrisome and needs to get corrected before we lose a playoff game because of it.

Cousins protecting the ball isnpretty far down the list of problems on this team. The Vikings are on pace to have 1008 yards rushing...as a team. Cousins was pressured on 46% of snaps he took last night. Dude has been flinging the ball all over and yes he wasn't good against Buffalo the guy is on pace for 40 TDs and over 5,000 yards. Cousins has some issues but at this point some other bigger problems need to be fixed before we worry about him losing a playoff game.

Anybody complaining about Cousins must be blind. No O-line, no defense, Cousins is the very least of the teams issues.

If you want to overlook red flags that have been there back to his Washington days be my guest. Those kinds of flags tend to rear their ugly head when you least want them to unfortunately (aka final drives of games and in the playoffs). It's all about habits. If you let bad ones slide just because you have bigger fish to fry they eventually become the bigger fish themselves.
