2 - 16 fg

Ouch. Also did you see that no call on Gobert at the end? I thought it was close to being a foul in real time but the more videos i see of it this morning...the more I think the refs absolutely got it right. I'm not sure Gobert even touched him even with George trying to create the contact on that 3.

I wonder if the Lakers will want to sign him.

2 thoughts.

1. George is or can be a fantastic defensive wing that can guard multiple positions. Basically you are getting a 3 and D guy that also happens to be able to play like a star player offensively.

2. If this was a number of other franchises around the league they would make some sort of run at PG Lebron etc but would also consider just keeping their young core and keep building. This is the Lakers though. It will be interesting to see what they do. The problem with their roster is that while they have plenty of talent you wonder which guy is actually a star player if any and I like the players they have assembled.

Also LST was right about Melo not helping that team but I don't think even he would have predicted the drop off on the shooting percentages. It was bad and even worse in the playoffs and did they HAVE to play him? Idk

Look for Indiana to get totally screwed today. Somebody important is going to get in foul trouble early and the Cavs will get away with assault.

The NBA needs LeBron in it eh, I wouldn't be surprised to see some biased calls. I certainly hope it's just fairly officiated.

Should Quinn get fired tomorrow a superior coach to Thibs in every way and they can't stop the Rockets. Fire him tomorrow, his fault.

Wow, the upcoming Rockets-Warriors series will be a lot of fun. Utah is getting a taste of that Rocket firepower that led to 50 points in one quarter against the Wolves. When the Rockets are zoned in, they're really, really good. The Jazz have overachieved all season. But they're hitting the wall against one of two truly elite teams in the NBA. If Ricky were healthy, I could see the Jazz winning one game at home, but I think we're looking at a sweep.

Credit the Rockets' front office for putting together an impressive roster, starting with the trade for Harden a few years ago and continuing this past summer when they acquired Chris Paul and signed both Moute and Tucker. Further credit for signing Eric Gordon and Anderson as free agents the previous summer. More credit for acquiring both Trevor Ariza and a protected 1st round pick in exchange for Omar Asik in 2014. Even more credit to their organization for drafting Capela with the 25th pick and developing him. Finally, credit to the Rockets for hiring a head coach who understands the modern NBA game and coaches accordingly.
