With what Miami did today (crazy upgrade for them), doesn't that pick we gave up for Thad tho now look like it's going to be the low 20 range? I agree a 1st round pick is a 1st round pick, but the value of it significantly decreases anyway if Miami goes on a run.

But KG coming home is something I never thought I'd see again. Wanted a vet presence? You got him. Wanted a potential new owner one day (like I do)? You got him. Want someone that could even take a bit of the pressure off of Flip on the court allowing Flip to relax a bit and focus more on the front office side of things? You got him.

If you wanna be upset at the process, sure, be mad at the process because while Philly is stockpiling every pick imaginable, we disregard what 1st and 2nd rounders mean. The result of this is something I can't complain about though. We're a young team and unlike every other team, we've lost for so long that we'll do anything to avoid a lengthy process. If KG doesn't perform well, it isn't for lack of IQ or lack of talent. Hopefully the wisdom he can provide can wear off on the rest of the team. By all accounts he was a huge reason for the emergence of Mason Plumlee in Brooklyn.

On the surface, we gave up a lot for KG on his last legs, but in this case, I really don't care. I'm glad he's back and I'm at a point where if KG can't help us grow as a team, who the hell will?

Are you the type of guy who wears a Wolves jersey on game days while you watch your TV? Just curious.

Portland gave up a 1st for Afflalo. Boston gave up a 1st for Isaiah Thomas. How is Young so much different than these two?

Seriously? I this sarcasm?

No, but I wear the black jersey whenever they're in town

SAC: Stauskas + Thompson
TOR: Ross + Fields (or Hayes)
OKC: McGary + Perkins or 1st + Perkins
POR: Freeland + Wright + 1st

I think Flip valued Garnett's "mentoring" and winning spirit over a first round pick or another young player like Stauskas/Ross/McGary. We'll never know what was actually offered or what took place in the Wolves war room, unless Lip gets some info, but I think we didn't get back what we could have for Thad (...or Brewer...or that future 1st going to Atlanta).

I agree, Cam.

Flip's comment just now in the presser when asked about trading a 1st basically for an old KG: "KG will have way more of an impact on this franchise than that pick could ever have"

I'm still mixed on the deal, but that is about the worst, least analytical quote in league history. Woof.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Flip has the power and only glen taylor of all people can stop him. Despite our record, flip has gotten a lot of praises because of the wiggins-love deal and the fact that he assembled a roster that has wiggins-rubio-lavine-bazz-dieng that has big time upside. Those praises probably has gotten into his head and now he thinks kg and payne will surely be more valuable than two 1st round picks. Its not just who we pick with those picks, but its the possible value that those two picks bring in trades. We know we cant trade consecutive first round picks so trading away one in the payne deal will make affect what we can offer in future trades as well.
