The Wolves have been "one bad break, one bad play" away from respectability for nearly two straight decades now.
Bad teams figure out ways to lose close games.
And once all hope is lost, those losses become even more frequent and by bigger margins.

Inexperience should not be used with a team that ended the game with Towns and Russell in their prime and Beverley out there as well. Memphis made its comeback with Jaren Jackson, Desmond Bane and Deanthony Melton playing the most minutes down the stretch.
Basically if we're excusing Russell and Towns for "inexperience" in year 7... we're part of the problem. That just can't be an excuse for max guys in the NBA.
No one would consider DLO a star on here but one poster. The other KAT, has to more or less be set up to make plays most of the time. He has not proven to have been a clutch 4th quarter player in his career for the most part.
We are left with Ant who is 20 years old I think, so in that respect we are young.
It's not an excuse though. He has to be better himself.
I just don't expect it from DLO and KAT. They've never proven to be winners.
FNG is right, good teams a lot of the time simply struggle to play hard for most of the game. 4th quarter comes, they turn it up and we are overmatched. I think that is a really fair analysis of this teams struggles.
You get it.
As most of you remember I was furious at the time of the Russell trade, and verbalized the fact that it wasn't going to work out for us many times. And that was before ANT became a reality. I was ready to move on from Towns at that time, but when we picked up Russell I knew we were stuck letting it play out. Well big surprise but I was right on the money. As I said at the time we were going to waste multiple years trying to get this supposed star combination to work out. And now instead of being into year 3 of a rebuild, we are a complete non-factor in the playoff chase and going absolutely nowhere. Maybe KAT learns how to win someday, but I doubt it. He certainly won't be a #1 on a contender. I also think most of you know DLO being a #2 or #3 on a contender is a joke. I'm finally fed up with this. We need the new owners to quit partying with the team and start putting their stamp on the franchise. We need true on-court leadership and that can only come from someone not currently on the roster.

It's been nine games... There's 73 games left. Yes, there have been disappointing losses early on, but maybe we don't declare some sort of victory or "I told you so" moment until the season's further along. It's just weird and irrational.

It's been 3 years Cam. I'm not happy at the truth, but I saw it coming.
